Anime/Manga Deaths

I don't know if this thread will go down well, but I just thought it would be a good way to remember some of the Anime/Manga characters that have passed way.

2. Don't just come along and post the name of a character. Tell us why that death was sad, surprising or even good.

Episode of Death: Ep.25 - Silence
How You Felt: Sad, shocked, kinda confused and slightly angry (at Light).
Anything Else: L's death was so sudden, I seriously didn't see it coming. When Watari died I thought it was because Rem had a plan to keep L alive. I was angry at Light because it was his fault and it was right after they shared that "moment" on the steps, I could have sworn those droplets were L's tears, not the water in his hair. =(

These series of events were quite symbolic, if you've ever read the bible pertaining to jesus christ, this would symbolize Jesus(L) washing and drying the feet of judas, and Judas(Light) later betraying Jesus thru the crucifixion, shows the reference of Light killing L. if you pay attention through out the anime/manga you will noticed ALOT of biblical references.

Series:Pokemon Special/Adventures
Episode of Death:Volume 22
How You Felt:i was upset he was one of my favorite characters
Anything Else:Right after a heartfelt conversation between him and ruby, he had died. However this could be considered a pseudo-death, since pages afterwards ruby released celebi who turned back time for those who had died and the rest of hoenn, so technically hes not dead anymore but his "death" was quite sad.

Series: Romeo x Juliet
Episode of Death: Episode 24 - "Prayer"
How You Felt: I was really pissed, and sad. I knew it was coming, but I was upset regardless. I liked him.
Anything Else: He was killed by Escalus, or also known as the giant tree hidden undereathe Neo Verona. =o=;; Not exactly the way I pictured he was going to die. Then again, this series was different from it's original source from the very beginning.

How You Felt: I saw it coming, althou I was really sad.

Series: Gurren Lagann
Episode of Death: 8 "Goodbye, My Friends"
How You Felt: At first I thought that he was somehow going to make it, especially when he started going on desperation mode. But he didn't quite make it... so I was saddened, especially since he's one of the best characters I've seen. So early on in the series too...
Anything Else: Although Kamina's death was tragic, it was a huge plot device, especially for Simon. If Kamina didn't die, Simon would not have found Nia or maybe grow up to be the man that he is. In a way, Kamina aided in Simon's coming of age.

Name: Genkai
Series: Yu Yu Hakusho
Episode of Death: Episode 52 "The Death of Genkai"
How You Felt: Naturally, I knew Genkai was going to die, since the title of the episode is "The Death of Genkai." However, I was still saddened over her death. She is one of my favorite characters from Yu Yu Hakusho and to see her die was heart breaking. Good thing she came back to life at the end of the Dark Tournament saga.
Anything Else: She died in a battle against Younger Toguro, her former fighting partner who she was in love with. Overall, the fight between them was intense. It was an emotional battle in which two former comrades who were in love fought each other to the death. This battle also revealed a lot of backstory for Younger Toguro and Genkai, which fleshed them out more and added more depth to both of their characters.

How You Felt: Sad but quite happy she sorta came alive again!
Anything Else:she was reborn and lives through out time but be reborn again under the circumstances(but is not mentioned)

How You Felt: Like it was a joke. Sadly it wasn't.
Anything Else:He fought valiantly, and figured of the secret of Pain

Name: Maes Hughes
Series: Full Metal Alchemist
Episode: 25
How You Felt: Really, really sad, and kind of angry.. : /
Anything Else: Hughes was a very lovable character, I think, and I think he added a lot to the show. It really ticked me off that he was killed before he could spread word that the State was under control of a humunculus (sp?). And it was sad that Envy took the form of his wife before he shot him. The funueral scene was also mildy depressing and made me cry when his daughter kept asking why they were burying him and stating that they can't because he has work he needs to do. It was just the saddest thing... :'(

Series: Death Note
Episode of Death: Ep.37 - New World
How You Felt: Really, really sad. I almost cried... =(
Anything Else: As everything started to unravel, I began to predict his death at the end of the episode. But, the way it happened... first getting shot by Matsuda and then making it all the way to that tower and dying on the steps, because Ryuk had written his name in the Death Note. Light Yagami's death has got to be the saddest I've ever seen in an anime, not one of the saddest... but the saddest. Seeing Misa at the end, her heart broken, at the top of the same tower Light had died in brought me to the verge of tears. And to top it off, when Light saw L just before he died... it made for the greatest ending to the best anime ever.

Episode of Death: Chapter 402 - Last Words
How You Felt: "...huh? He's dead?! WHAT THE HECK?!" In short, sad, frustrated and in rage, and of course, surprised.
Anything Else: Well, I KNEW Itachi was gonna die, but WHY NOW!? Just when I was liking the Akatsuki, and now they destroy them one by one?! Sasuke, it's all your fault! You killed Deidara, and now HIM?!

This is quite well known by Na*beep**beep* fans, so if you know, DON'T LAUGH AT ME!

Episode of Death: Ep.37 - New World
How You Felt: Well not as much as Light's death however I felt weird of how he died almost laughed
Anything Else: I thought that Mikami was crazy but he killed himself with his own pen . However he did almost save Light from dying but why Ryuk why ?

Episode of Death: I don't remember. Deliberately jumped it, read the manga first
How You Felt: I literally CRIED for 3 weeks. Evn though the guy was already technically dead
Anything Else: I have a poster of him in his memory above my bed xD

Name: Nuriko
Series: Fushigi Yûgi
Episode of Death: Don't know, only read the manga
How You Felt: Oh man, my heart just BROKE. I was like 16 at the time and I couldn't stop crying
Anything Else: I hated Nuriko at first. She was my least favorite character. Funny, huh?

I soooo cryed when Genkai died....I wish they didnt bring her back though...it kinda ruined the whole thing and she doesnt do much afterwards...like when they killed kuwabara...I guess i just believe when something dies it dies....unless you use "Monster Reborn" :-/

Name: Mello and Kiyomi Takada
Series: Death Note
Episode of Death: Ep.35 - Malice
How You Felt: Slightly surprised, but it didn't affect me that much.
Anything Else: I was wondering what happened to Mello and then he appeared out of no-where to kidnap Kiyomi. I thought Mello would get away and Kiyomi would be saved, boy was I wrong! Kiyomi killed Mello without hesitation and then Light went ahead and killed her. Mello's final actions made it possible for Near to catch Kira, so it kind of makes me feel sad that he had to die.
