Another Elite so soon? (Japanese Spoilers)

    I know this is a week old, but it's still commentary-worthy. Anyway, with all the future Japanese episode titles coming down the pike, this caught my attention. From Serebii.net with proper formatting by Dogasu.

    Episode 508: The Champion Shirona Enters!

    Or the 40th episode of D/P, and Cynthia to all of you dub fans. Forty episodes in and we get to see the Champion already?! And don't forget, Goyou (Lucian) just popped up only 5 episodes ago. Man, they're really trying to apologize for stiffing the audience about the Four Emperors, aren't they?
     
    Well, in most seasons we don't even get to see the Elite Four Members/champions...(at least the episodes I've seen) I think it's a change for the better.
     
    So far -- and I'm using the dub names as I'm too lazy right now -- we've had Bruno, Lorelei, Johto Lance twice, Drake, and FR/LG Agatha. I wish I knew why the producers were so hesitant with these canon characters, and rather dump endless Trainers-of-the-day on us. I guess those days are a thing of the past.

    I'm suddenly missing Wallace and his Emerald status as Champion for some reason. Heh.
     
    Well according to serebii, theres more than 4 elites, i think they need to make it clearer about which reason they're an elite in

    also, isn't lance the Champion too? So how can Cynthia be a Champion? Of there regions, these are the questions that haunt me 0.o
     
    Yeah, I noticed that title, too. What surprises me is not that it's a member of the elite, but that it's the champion herself. If it were, say, Aaron or Flint, whatever, but bringing the Champion so soon concerns me. When Goyou was introduced it was made kind of obvious that they were going to bring in the other elites, but a few episodes later, the champion...? Methinks this season will feel a bit rushed >.>
     
    I don't know about rushed. It felt like forever for Ash to just reach the first Gym... However, I guess there was a contest in between...

    Meh, in the game you met Cynthia lots of times. It only makes sense that Ash would meet her in the show, don't you think?

    You stole my line of thought. Hehehe. Anyway, it's not like she was useful in the game, like, say, Lance's appearance in Johto. Bah.
