Another question regarding EV Training :P

I read that in order to EV train, you must fight the same species of Pokemon continuously. What about if I fought a few Geodudes, which give 1 defence point, and then a Phanpy, which also gives 1 defence point? Will this still work, or is it just advised to choose one species?
Help is appreciated, thank you :)

You don't need to fight the same exact species over and over, just ones that give the EV point you're training in. Iron Island, for example, is great for defense training because 3/4 of the wild Pokémon give defense EVs.

Ah, I see =] thank you for the help.

I'm using Heart Gold at the moment :P
I've noticed something odd, though. I've been fighting Donphans because they give out both attack AND defence; my Kingdra is using a power brace with PKRS and although the majority of Pokemon appearing seem to give defence only, I still seem to be getting a lot of attack points. Is this normal? :x

It comes down to either its nature or its BST...since the base for attack and defense are the same, it's not that, so it could just be its nature*. Assuming it isn't above level 90 you won't see huge jumps in any stat you're training for a while.

*Adamant, Lonely, Brave and Naughty all boost attack, Lonely in particular will hold Defense back while increasing Attack.
