electivire is there for electric coverage and to get some boosts if someone tried to electrify my pokemon. If i drop either mix itll be mixape cuz i love my electivire....

Maybe I could drop him. If I need something that resists fighting, what do you reccomend? I do need a spinner but i HATE giving up a slot on my team just to accomodate a rapid spinner. Is there a spinner that resists fighting?

Tecfhnically, Tentacreul, but I don't know what it would do for this team.

    *Cough Starmie Cough*
Flamehaze is right, vire is pretty much dead weight on this team. You need a dedicated special sweeper too, and whad'ya know starmie can do that too! You gotta love that christmas tree decoration. I'd use the specs set, switching one of the moves for rapid spin.

    YOU FOOL! YOU FOOL!

I need Tenta to take over the world, so I need as many people to use it as possible. But
Starmie always gets in my way!

    Hmm...Specs Spin? I wouldn't recommend it. But I'm not saying it's useless.

EDIT:Oh, & Claydol, but he does nothing for you.

Both of your Wall lacks of Recover... they will die if they take powerfull hits... You have to use a Cleric and less sweepers IMO

Well, the Tangrowth could take quite a beating, and getting in a Leech Seed could give some form of recovery, but I agree, you COULD use a cleric. The spinner wouldn't be so important if you had more that could resist Stealth Rock, as you only have two right now. If you're still going for sweepers, definitely get a dedicated special sweeper.

Not a bad choice. The only worry I'd have, personally, with the Lucario, is that it'd make ANOTHER ground type weakness. You currently have three, and only one resistance to it after your Togekiss uses Roost. EQ's really popular, so which pokemon would you be getting rid of for those two?

I don't know if this has been said yet...but your walls have no way to heal which means wear and tear will really kill your team. In that regard I'd run Rest with cleric support or have a wish supporter to help out, over vire since...well, it sucks.

Eeeek! Sims has gone crazy :P

You'd be suprised, this thing works wonders on shoddy

    So, did I do bad?
Don't get me wrong, i use tenta myself. But starmie is far more suited to this team. Specspin is really quite cool:
    Starmie@Choice Specs
    Timid
    200SpAtt/252Spd/56HP
    Thunderbolt
    Ice Beam
    Surf
    Rapid Spin

The moveset offers enough coverage and it can still spin. It also fits the criterea of resiting fight, and can also take ice hits for chomp if needs be. I think it suits this team well personally.

=[ Unfortunately its not cool, Pursuit says hi, i suppose its ok, since CB Donphan can run it as a "Makeshift" Spinner, but the difference being that Donphan isnt weak to pursuit, i dunno, i guess it could work, but i just wouldnt advise it.

    Eww@That specs star ev spread : 252 SP.ATT / 252 SPEED@Modest - hydro Pump/Grass Knot/Thunderbolt/ice Beam NAOW !!!1

Pursuit says hi to a lot of things really, amd ive found that this set works ok. Specs+That EV spread allows it to hit 429 SpAtt, he can afford to make it timid.

Meh, he asked for a fight resist spinner. I've found this set useful in the past. We'll see what changes he makes and suggest a better alternative.

Specs Starmie is way better with Timid. I'm usually one to advise power on Choice sweepers, but the power difference isn't that big and passing up outspeeding Adamant Dugtrio, Gengar, (basically all of the base 110s) and you can tie with Azelf and friends...that's too good to pass up in my mind for a small power difference. Things like Infernape will also outspeed you and slow scarfers could be a mess of trouble.

Specs Starmie with Rapid Spin works, it'ws by no means the best, but it does work. I find using starmie is best to use with a trapper of your own (cough dugtrio cough) to give Weavile or Blissey a funny surprise.

thouhg yes, CB Donphan can run Rapid Spin better thanks to the added bulk...and...

    EAT CB RAPID SPIN FOOL!

Specs star isnt actually meant to outrun anything, its meant to hit HARD and get out of there, not outspeed infernape, thats where it differs from its cousin the spin star, this form of starmie isnt suppose to be bulky, and therefore doesnt need outspeed or "counter" anything. As in specs mence, people run modest on that, because its a sweeper to hit hard and then get out,the same with Specs star, this is a totally different role not the support role or the spinner. Who doesnt like the notion of Choice Specs Hydro pump coming off modest ? it even does 35% to blissey. Pack another ape counter if your that scared of it, thats a job this dude shouldnt be doing.

Im one of those people who think if your going for power, do it properly people i guess lol

EDIT : I think CB Rapid Spin may actually OHKO' Alakazam lol

I get the concept of power due to the hit and run concept, but I prefer to get the most bang for my buck.

Take jolly CBmence vs. Adamant CBmence. You don't really outspeed anything worthwhile and the power difference is enough that it merits Adamant nature for sure. This is true with almost all choice attackers.

Star on the other hand relies on its speed and we both know that. If Starmie can't outspeed things, its effectiveness plummets. The difference ein power from Modest to Timid is only 45 SAtk points factoring in the Choice Specs (if I did that correctly). Compare that to outspeeding twice the amount of pokemon you could before and I call that worth the power "loss."

Its goal might not be to counter things, but remember that Rapid Spin is very common on Starmie and Gengar is a popular switch. Outspeeding the chump is important or you'll be eating shadow Ball.

The power difference is pretty slim (by a choice Item standard) and being able to pull the hit and run routine on far more pokemon is way more beneficial in my mind.

Modest doesn't really give Star any HUGE improvements or anything, so Timid just makes a lot more sense.

EDIT: An example of what I mean is something like Aerodactyl (CB). while it is a hit and run pokemon, it still needs its speed for sure.
