Well, I'm certainly tired of trading my hard-earned legendary Pokemon on the GTS, just to learn that the one I received was a fake. I think that GameFreak should patch their servers to use some sort of legality checker to try to make sure that we aren't getting so many hacked Pokemon (with exceptions for the special event Pokemon, such as the Yellow Forrest Pikachu that know surf or fly).

But, since they probobly won't do anything like that, I think that we should take some of the responsibility and release, or at least don't trade, any Pokemon that either we obtained by cheating/hacking, or any other Pokemon that we obtain in a trade that turns out to be hacked.

Now, I know this wouldn't get rid of all of them, but it may certainly make a considerable difference.

What do you guys think? Is it a good idea or not? I personally have been doing this for a while and think that if enough people do it, it may actually work.

Good luck getting everyone to cooperate.

I agree, cheats are part of Pokemon's history now.

i always see people offering hacked pokemon. i can tell they're hacked because sometimes they're legendaries and they're like level 5 or something.

I know that's an easy way to tell, but I recently traded a Giratina for a level 40 Raiku. It looked legit, until I learned that it "Met at level 5".

Well, the amount of work to raise Pokemon into competitive battling is very hard and some people just don't have the time to IV breeding, nature breeding and EV training.

Yeah, so Pokemon get hacked, but I thought that Action Replay warned not to trade/breed hacked Pokemon as it would have adverse effects? or is that just lies to get you not to cheat?

I have never seen any such warnings, and the only downsides to trading hacked Pokémon is that it kinda sucks if you're the person receiving it, and people might not want to trade with you anymore.

My Action Replay Wild Pokemon Modifier (which I have NEVER used) says this:

    - Use only when needed. DO NOT BREED.

So that's why I'm sceptical about that - I'm afraid of adverse effects on my game.

Do you really expect to change anything with one thread on some random forum? Hackers will merely laugh at you and continue with what they're already doing, you can't control people. Cheating is just something that happens with every online game, you'll just have to deal with it.

Not trying to put you down or anything but there really isn't anything you can do. The only thing I could think of is some sort of petition about adding a hack checker to the GTS that you could send to GF, but that would most likely have lackluster results.

I only use PokeSav to make Pokemon that are normally unattainable (or just ridiculously freaking rare)

Does this campain included legitly caught Pokemon that have only used EXP codes to raise the EXP gained at the end of battle? Stats still come out the same, or even weaker because of IVs/EVs/Whatever.

By "hacked Pokémon," I mean ones that were obtained with things like "encounter modifier codes".

I don't really care about experience codes.

I wouldn't really care if hackers would do what I used to do, which is open up Pokésav, or sometimes just a good hex editor, and just change everything to make the Pokémon legit. Fix the level, IVs, moves, area of encounter, Pokéball, etc. I just hate it when it's so obvious.

I hate the un-obvious ones, like an lv.100 Arceus that had the OT of "TRU", but it didn't work in SoulSilver. It looked legit, but didn't work

but what if someone uses an AR to encounter something stupid like a level 12 metagross, and uses it to breed a beldum? would the beldum be considered a hack?

No. Bred Pokémon are legit, except for the fact that you can't get eggs from the Beldum family. :P

I agree with this. I have an Action Replay myself, but I am very careful to only use it for semi-legit purposes. Like catching the Regis on Diamond without having to play all the way through R/S/E first. But even then, I use the codes to make them seem legit.

I think that the best way for GF to fix this would be to let you see the full summary section of each pokemon before you trade for it on the GTS. And, for OUR part, we can avoid doing stupid things like trading for legendaries on GTS. Most of the legit ones are cloned anyway. Just trade via this forum or one of the other numerous ones.

Can I add to this petition too? For those that DO cheat, STOP FLOODING ALL OF THE ACTION REPLAY FORUMS WITH YOUR STUPID POKESAV CODES. If I want a "totaly awsum Ho-oh," I'll make it myself. -_-#

pfft, i thought they were - i heard the Beldum family and most genderless pokemon (exluding legends obviously) could breed with ditto

My friends have a whole bunch of hacked pokemon that they asked for online. One has a Chikorita with Wonder Guard, Spacial Rend, Roar of time and other hacked moves. To counter it, I hacked my own Pokemon with legit stats and moves.
I never hack my games unless I beat them and get bored.
