4th Gen Any Clues? - Help Needed

    Hi everyone!

    I had Pokemon Diamond afew months ago >.< til the box got stolen out of my bag at college....

    Anyway a friend of my last night gimmie something called a R4 Card which looks like a normal DS Game but it has Pokemon Diamond and Pearl on it which was weird he also said I can add other games but meh just wanna play Pokemon.

    Anyway Loaded up the game and there was already a saved game that was pretty close to start, Like 1-2 hours in....

    Noticed something abit well odd though.
    In the Inven there's 3 odd items that I haven't heard of and didn't see them on my game.

    Letter from Prof Oak
    Azure Flute
    Members Card

    Not to sound dumb here but what the heck are these things?
     
    They are the items you use to acquire Shaymin, Arceus and Darkrai, respectively, in their respective places, once you have the National Dex.
     
    Yea it's a Rom Emulator Card.
    I was gonna just buy Pokemon Pearl(since I had Diamond) but I got the Card free so can't complain.

    Best just to ditch the items? If thats possible to Toss them I mean.
     
    Well, if you're going for a game of legitimacy, then if you can, ditch them, but I'd personally wait to see if they work, because its not everyday you get a game with all the items to catch current Event-Only Pokemon for nothing. Though I wish they would make the darn items fully-public, so that everyone can at least fill their Pokedexes.. -.-;;

    But you're running on a ROM cartridge, so I wouldn't worry about legitimacy.

    Atleast the Wifi works fine tho.
    I was thinking if it does work and the Pokemon are valid ones to clone them and give them out on forum to ppl so they can max there dex.

    Well that's a big plus; it wouldn't be quite right, without Wi-Fi. XD

    That would be an awfully kind gesture. I think they would fall in the category of Semi-Legitimate, since it is likely, without a doubt, that the items are hacked, since to my knowledge, none of them have been released, yet; even after over a year of the game being out, but the acquisition method (using the items to get to an extra area of the game) would be the legitimate way of getting these Pokemon.
     
    I used the action replay to get the event items and they work.

    Well, Toys R Us recently had an event where you get the actual Pokemon, rather than the item; much like they did with the Manaphy, which I think was to commemorate the 9th Movie, I think..

    Anyways, I could be wrong about none of the items not being released; I've not actually looked too much into it, because I personally think its pretty stupid what they've done with it, once again. With Wi-Fi, they should really set the items on a server or something, so that everyone can get them, using the Mystery Gift with the WFC option.

    ..but those are my rantings.. carry on.. XD;;
     
    If you have the items they work how they were intended to. But I still don't know if they're considered fake or not. It still says you caught shaymin in flower paradise and arceus in that one wierd place forget the name. Also I don't know if you knew this or not but the event pokemon are already in the game but the events are used to download the information needed to get to them. For example you can get shaymin without oak's letter if you use an action replay and turn on run anywhere you can run on top of the water and find shaymin in the middle of the ocean sitting in the flower paradise same with darkrai.

    what about the ppl who can't get to the events?
    Or the people who don't live near >.<

    Nintendo sure know how to make things difficult.

    Thats why I thought of cloneing and giving them away.

    From what I can tell from the items and the US and UK info.
    A special event is activated via Wireless from the ppl at the event
    then you go into a PokeMart and you are presented with a extra NPC who gives you the special items

    So it's really just a way to activate an event without having to attend it?
    Cause I know Shaymin is caught in Flower Garden when it gets released.

    Yeah all the event does is it lets you actually get too the pokemon and battle it. The only way its not considered legit is if you use a wild poemon modifier to randomly find it in anywhere. But if you have the item then its considered real. But you could obtain the item through cheating.
     
    Hmmm I'm against cheats but in this case I gotta say it's a good thing.
    If ya can't get to event but theres a way to get the real pokemon with the real markings ion it's I.D etc then surely it can't be that bad right?

    Right if for example it says shaymin is caught in flower paradise and its I.D. is real then the pokemon is considered real even if you used cheats to get the event.

    Oak's Letter: This item is the letter you give to professor Oak. After giving the letter, the white rock just outside Victory Road (accessable through another exit) will disappear and the Flower Paradise will appear. The Flower Paradise is a wide open space with a lot of flowers just like the ones in Floaroma Meadow. In the middle of the Flower Paradise, you will find Shaymin.

    Azure Flute: This item is the item you use to get to Arceus. When you get to the top of Spear Pillar where Dialga / Palkia previously was, you use the Azure Flute. When you use it, a flight of stairs will appear. The stairs take you to a place called the Hall of Origin. It is also where Arceus is located. The flight of stairs is sometimes thought to picture the heaven and how it is in the sky.

    Membership Card: This item is the item used to capture Darkrai. You take the Membership Card to the locked building in Canalave City. The door will open and you discover that it is a motel. You sleep in the bed for a night. In the middle of the night, Darkrai pays you a visit and gives you nightmares. When you wake up, you find a Diary next to your bed. If you show the Diary to the man at the dock with a ship (the one who sails you to Iron Island and Full Moon Island), he will sail you to New Moon Island which is the home to Darkrai.

    Since none of these items have been released legitimately yet, all Pokemon that you aquire with these items are considered semi-legit. Why is it just semi-legit? That's because the Pokemon has no characteristics that make it hacked except for the fact that it was caught through illegit means. Sheen, Movesets, Abilities, Stats, and EVs are all legit, but it was aquired through illegit ways. Thus making it semi-legit.

    If some people can't get to a Pokemon event, there's a reason why the creators of Diamond and Pearl installed WiFi Connection.
     
    But with the Wifi you can only request the Pokemon you have seen.
    Nintendo royally messed this up.

    I went to Toys R Us Mew event ages ago and it was a total flop.

    So I think if the Pokemon are the same as Legit with the ID etc then they should be allowed.
     
    now, if the pokemon would be semi-legit, would you be allowed to trade them on PC? cuz i've been wanting shaymin for ages! (hence my entire profile is based on him)
     
    Ummm...

    Not to sound pushy or change the subject, but if you do and can give away arceus and shaymin clones, could you maybe think about PMing me. I have an aim s/n too. (if that helps) I have to be completely honest, if I landed something like this, I would never have even thought about cloning and giving them away. You musy be a very generous person. And no, I am not trying to suck up. =] Look, whatever you do, congrats on your great find!

    Though on a lesser note, I've wanted them, as well. But there's still hope; they haven't released the items to capture them, yet, so with a bit of luck, they'll do that via Wi-Fi.

    I'm not holding my breath, though; this is Nintendo we're talking about.. >.>;
