Any Doujin-ka s out there??

Ok ok cool. My bad.

Anyway I think a while ago I stumbled upon some JP artist who drew this enormous Pokemon only comic and had various pokemon anthromorphised acting like people. They had shops, sold stuff and other cool things, and they looked like pokemon, they didn't have humanoid bodies. Quite interesting.

Main character was this Ralts girl. It was a web only comic but he was just addicted to Pokemon and knew the styles and everything. Worth checking out if you can find it.

You talking about Sirnight Experience on Pokesho? Dude, I translated that comic you speak of. It's in my sig, actually.

Sirnight Experience was the reason I lived. Well, maybe.

S.E. was the best Sirnight based doujin I've read in a while, seeing how I'm a Gardevoir addict.

I've just checked out some of the manga Yamato translated, its pretty good. Something like Pokemon Dungeon eh? Its just the world of Pokemon, with no humans. Pretty nice if you ask me. =3

Yamato-san: Have you considered saving each comic page and putting translated text in them rather than have a seperate document of translated text?

posting a seperate script takes less time, plus I don't need to find a site where I can post the pictures (well, I have an imagebucket account, but I'd rather not push that place's limit on image amounts, since I expect to translate quite a few comics). It really shouldn't be a problem, considering I linked to the actual comics, but if you wanna edit, go right ahead. Just be sure to give credit where it's due.

Hm now that's a thought... Will fire up photoshop, pop the images somewhere and see how it goes.

Er, it can be done in a basic paint program actually. And just host it on Imageshack or something, you don't need an account for that.

still, picture editting's not something I do much of, and I do have other things I can do with my free time (just so everyone's aware, I spent 4 days straight working on Takeshi Hero Legend, and it would've taken even longer if I were employed at the moment or still applying at places instead of sitting home waiting for a call afterwards). Really, even though I enjoy doing it, you should just be thankful that I translated it at all.

Maybe I'll do it during my vaccation. I have a ton of time for such a job like that, and all I'll have to do is copy paste the text basically. =3

I've just made a seperate thread on the Pokesho doujin. You can check it out in the Pokemon Manga section or in my sig.

Thread advertising? Is that like.. allowed? ._. Ah whatever, this is a small part of the forum, I'll check it out. By the way, aren't there any more sites like Pokesho that have doujins?

They're not easy to find considering most of them are Japanese sites. I don't think I've found any good ones in English either... : \

Even if I look through tons of Japanese Pokemon fansites, almost none of them have Pokemon doujins, even if the person who owns the site draws them.
The main reason for this being that these people make money by selling doujins, so whats the point of putting them on their sites?

Huh...? They like.. sell those like the real manga? I see. But Pokesho's only online isn't it? Anyway..

I like that Digimon Adventures based on on Pokesho some time back. Though I have no idea what the writings mean.. >_<

Yes they do make money off doujins. They do need it to buy supplies.
But some are cheap and use them for whatever they want.

But again doujins are farily legal here in japan.Since doujins are peoples
works, they just use charaters and some storys from the orginal.

Yeah it's so different in other nations where if you produce fan art and attempt to sell it, you'd probably be shot down by the original company for doing so.

JP is more laxed in that sense you can sell fan made stuff but I guess you don't exactly make much from doing so.

Ya you won't make much.On e-bay theres doujin action, posters, and tons
of other stuff. But they only get probelly a few dollers of profit.

...although you do need permission from the legal owners if you are going to sell it in Comiket.

This is why Nintendo was fairly tight on Pokemon doujins a while back, after the "Pokemon doujin" incident, where a Nintendo employee found a Pokemon doujin with explicit sexual nature on sale in Comiket. And it didn't have permission by Nintendo.
