hate him or not whats your opinion on him and mainly his new album recess. I know it sounds way different than anything he's done before but isn't unique sounds what got skrillex his fan base in the first place?

in regards to his new album I came away with two favorites from it: stranger and easy my mind. if you haven't heard easy my mind and you like electronic music you should give it a listen.

I'm a fan of Skrillex. He makes the best dubstep imo. Yes, his new album Recess is indeed something different, but there are still some tracks that earned a place in my playlist.

Load of rubbish. Not going to bother trying the newer stuff.
this. it's music for drunk frat boys, basically, and he's done an awful thing for electronic in making awful dubstep the main commercial pull for the genre.

Ummm... Rock 'N Roll (Take you to the mountain) is definitely my favorite. Scary monsters and nice sprites, Bangarang, Cinema remix, Ruffneck, that new NRG remix with other musicians are also very cool and awesome tracks.

I think I know Ease my Mind. Can't really remember though. Didn't really like the new album.
What are your favorites? And what is your taste of music than? I prefer Dubstep, House, Dance, Hiphop and sometimes R&B.

I like a small amount of R&b but mostly right now im into house, dubstep, electronic.
have you heard of wolfgang gartner? knife party? the glitch mob? zedd?those are some of my favs right now. if you like dubstep you should really give death machine and fire hive by knife party a listen. what are someother dubstep bands you like?

Ooh damn.. I have never heard of these before xD. Definitely gonna give these a try.
I don't really know many dubsteppers. I listen to some tracks from Krewella frequentely.

I don't think Skrillex is even considered dubstep. His music is called "Brostep" (by the way, stupidest sub-genre name ever) and relies on ratty high earbleeding frequencies, rather than bass. I don't like electric music in general, but I can respect most artists of said genre. Skrillex is not one of them.

Words cannot even begin to describe my hatred for his ear-bleed inducing music.

eh I don't understand why music is such a competition these days. "that music is garbage because of x and y, therefore I do not like it and it is bad. This music is superior. Whoever listens to this music is not listening to the right thing."

if you do not like a song, album, artist or genre, okay. that's fine. But when you say no one else should listen to it, and they should listen to this instead, it ruins it for other people.

here is my opinion. If you like heavy metal, cool listen to it. If you like Justin Bieber, sweet listen to it. If you like pots and pans being banged together on a recording cool, listen to it. But you don't have to tell other people it sucks and they should listen to something else. Music is for fun. Music is not a competition.

also, another thing is mainstream hatred. Lets say there is a mainstream band. you do not like them because they are mainstream. if they are popular, they suck. I fail to understand this logic. what if your favorite band suddenly went big? signed a big deal with a big label and was on all the radio stations? would you no longer enjoy the music? enjoy the sound that just a few months ago you enjoyed so much?
my point is, don't make something that's supposed to be fun into a competition.

also, why do we even put these labels on groups of music? The outrage over "that is not this type of music that is this type of music! how dare you ever suggest otherwise!" astonishes me. what if we just did away with genres. what if all music was just in this category called music. and people took the songs out of that pile they liked with no prejudice. and they listened to those songs. and if they liked those songs they would listen to them more, and if they didn't like those songs, they would not listen to them. What if music was just this beautiful seamless gathering of sounds that contributed to our happiness? what if it wasn't this crazy competition for who listens to the "coolest and best" music. yet alas I am a dreamer.

tl;dr, if you like skrillex, cool. if you hate skrillex and think all his music is cow *$#@, cool. don't ruin it for others though.

I'm no fan of Skrillex's music but the funny thing is that I don't hate brostep. I listen to Excision and can like most of the stuff he produces. Maybe its because his music is more melodic than Skrilllex's brostep productions, even with his more heavier songs.

I liked his collaboration with Foreign Beggars - Still Getting It though.
