Do you play chess? If so, what strategy do you use when playing? Have you had any interesting experiences when playing chess?

Back in primary school I did. We had days where we would play Chess instead of playing in the sandbox or on the football field / playground / basketball courts etc. I think I had a natural affinity for the game - I had a very tactical mind and I was cunning too. Strategy wasn't something I focused too much on early game. I would just play things out and see what happened. When the board started to develop, strategies would just formulate themselves within my mind. I could plan ahead several turns in advance which is a key skill for Chess. My greatest victory was in my first year of high school where I took on the chess champion for that year. It was extremely close but with some solid game play, I took the win. When I moved country, I stopped playing Chess. Actually, my life style as a whole changed. I gave up quite a few things. Chess, Piano, Cricket, Pokemon TCG and perhaps a few other things too.

Anyway, I always liked using my Knights as I believe they are the most cunning chess piece on the board. Their unique and signature movement pattern allows for a lot of enemy disruption and momentum shifts. They are my favourite chess piece and I will generally try to preserve them, rather than sacrificing them off or whatever.

I learned to play early, but then, I just kinda stopped, because I had no one to play with, and I had to go far for tournaments.

I start off with the same opening almost every time. Then, if possible, I go into my second, box like position, with my king in the middle. By then, I am usually able to tell my opponent's strategy.

Yes, I definitely play chess. I'm always black XD
My strategy is just all out offense with a little defense. I won once, just by moving my knight three times. XD
My fiance didn't see it coming...and he got really angry. XD

I was in the Chess club at my school and was the 4th best player out of 20.

I haven't played ever since I moved though. My new school lacked a chess club. They got one this year but I graduated before then.

Overall I was a defensive player but I used knights offensively a lot. Other peices not so much, but I used Rook's occasionally as the game finishers.
