    I have a question. Is using an ar to get an event you missed not acceptable?
     
    I don't think people would like to battle against it. But if you missed an event and want that Pokemon, if you feel it's an acceptable reason to use an AR to get it, then by all means, do it. If you mean for battling, I suggest asking in the DPPt or HGSS help threads. This isn't really the place.
