Arcanine Moveset (competitive)

    • Okay, so I'm planning on putting an Arcanine in my party, and I looked at Smogon.com and they said to give Arcanine the following moveset:

    Howl
    Hidden Power Fighting
    Extremespeed
    Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat


    Now, I don't have a problem with Howl, Extremespeed, and a fire move.

    My problem is HP Fighting.

    What would be a good move to substitute for HP Fighting.

    Oh, and what nature should it be?

    That is the problem with Arcanine. Great stats but very limited movepool. In-game you could feasibly use Substitute or Crunch instead. The Nature is typically Adamant, but if you want to use Crunch, you might consider a +Atk Nature that doesn't -SAtk.

    • Iron Tail is probably the only replacement for HP Fighting on the physical attacking Arcanine, that's how bad it's movepool is. =/
