Hi, I'm new to the forum (have said hi in the newbies section) but wanted to say hi in the TCG section too :)

While I'm here, I'm interested to know if its worth getting any of my cards PSA graded.
    Complete 1st edition Fossil set
Complete 1st edition Team Rocket set
    Complete Jungle set
    Complete German Team Rocket set
    3x Complete Base set +extras
and a few newer cards that i know very little about, but will be asking for advice about soon ;)
They are all in mint condition as far as i can tell (except maybe a couple of the base set cards), all in hardbacked trading card folders and never played.

Also, any idea what it costs to get cards graded?

I hear to get a single card graded alone it's fairly pricey. As for whole sets, I have no clue how much that would run you, but just speaking from the more realistic side of my brain, it would probably cost you more to grade cards than they're worth. Seriously.

But I have no history with this kind of thing, so maybe someone who's had more experience with this kind of stuff could provide more clarity on the subject.

Thanks guys, I'll keep looking into it, but I'm not conviced either way yet. Does anyone know of anywhere else that grades other than PSA and Becketts?

I do not know of any other such places. The PSA's fees, for reference: https://www.psacard.com/fees/index.html

Consider that most cards that are of the common rarity fetch $0.25 - $0.50 each and make up quite a bit of most sets, and uncommon cards usually fetch $0.50 - $1.00 each. That's most of the set right there and it doesn't come close to recouping the costs, even with the rares.

Very true, looks like about £10 per card is the cheapest level. Would be nice to have a full set of cards graded 9-10 though ;) I personally would think almost all my cards are perfect condition, but they may not feel the same, so you never know what grade you may receive and i may end up with a set of 7s :P I may consider getting a few done some time in the future, but probably not a whole set at that price then.
