Music Are CD's outdated?

I go to a used bookstore often around here and every now and then they have a CD of an artist or band I really like so I buy one, they're only 2 dollars so I figure why not, it's a good deal and I would have ended up buying the album eventually digitally at some point anyway. I import the music onto my mp3 player. There are specific artists I always buy a physical copy of CDs just to collect.
