I've seen some funny ads here. I also am seeing lots of ads from Mitt Romney's campaign. Is his campaign supporting PC financially?

I don't believe PC has a huge amount of control over which adverts appear, although inappropriate ones can be blocked. But yes, they provide PC with some income in addition to supporters.

One thing to note is that the ads you get are context-based as well as based on your browsing history, so you must have visited some site that would have caused those Mitt Romney ads to show up. I often see ads for Amazon's deals on anime and ads for various video games whenever ads do pop up for me on PC, which reflects my browsing history.

But the ads are just generated by Google, as opposed to the companies and organisations directly! What determines which adverts each person sees is their location as well as any cookies/search history of the computer. A few months ago, I got a lot of adverts concerning the Finnish elections for the European Parliament: probably because I'm in Europe and had recently viewed some politically oriented sites.

Would it be fair to say that you've been visiting some US-election based websites, Freaky? As that would explain why you've been seeing a preponderence of Mitt Romney adverts.

Having said that, Mitt Romney's campaign is not directly funding PC; Google is, but is showing you a Mitt Romney advert because of the specifications I mentioned earlier.

I could be compleeeeeeeetely wrong on this, but I think what I said is true. Steve!? Help a brother out, here!

"We've been bought out by Bain Capital because the Socialist Donation system isn't working out and Steve wants to cash in already.

Expect some downsizing afterwards. Who's the first to go? Anyone want to bet $10,000 on that?"

Jokes aside, all the ads are based on what Google and Ad companies have on your record. PC doesn't have control over that. I've been seeing Obama 2012 ads when I turn off AdBlock lol.
