No, aura users are not the same as psychics. Aura is like "The Force" of the Pokemon world. Everything has it, but not everything can use it. So far the only ones who can use it are Sir Aaron, Ash, Lucario, Riolu, and possibly Riley. We'll find out when Riley appears in the anime a long time from now.
