Okay, it's been a while since I made a blog, but now I have a good reason, as do everybody else here @ PC: Pokemon Black and White.
The Generation V game have arrived on our shores. I pre-ordered White with a few days before the game's release and I got it on March 8th. And I've been playing it non-stop. The creators wanted that nostalgic feel of playing Red and Blue for the first time. I'll give them that. When I first got Red and Blue, I spent my entire summer vacation playing it. This was when I was still in High School. However, a lot of things early on really got me peeved.
The new EXP system: You get more points for beating a higher level Pokemon than yours. But you gain less and less EXP when you beat Pokemon that are at a lower level than yours. I can understand getting more EXP for beating higher level Pokemon, but those Pokemon will kick the ass of my Pokemon without any effort!
Stronger wild Pokemon at the beginning: People have said that Ash has been struggling in Unova. I can see why. It seems to me that Unova Pokemon are stronger than usual. Must be something in their water or they have been eating their Wheaties. At the start of the game, I kept on having much of my Pokemon team faint due to wild Pokemon more than the past games. Also, my team early on seemed to be wimps because many of them got hit with one attack that is a critical hit and they faint! My Blitzle is the king of wimps on my team. >< I lost count on how many times that thing fainted after one hit.
Luck: When I was facing against other wild Pokemon, they seem to land critical hits easier and more often. Also when a Pokemon uses attacks that hit 2-5 times, many of them always hit 5 times and one of them is a critical hit in some cases. When my Pokemon attack, I rarely get a critical hit and when I use attacks that hit 2-5 times, they end after 2-3 hits. Then, I'm in recovery mode trying to revive my Pokemon, only to have them faint again.
Long time levelling: The new EXP system says it helps with training Pokemon easily. When I was first playing it, I cursed the creators for doing that. This was before I got the Lucky Egg and EXP. Share. Without those and gaining less EXP with my higher level Pokemon, the early stages of the game were torture. I barely scrapped by my first two Gym battles, getting beat horribly by Lenora's Watchog.
Those are my negative points when I first began my Unova Journey. On my next Blog, things get better. Much better.
