    Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen

The Kingdom of Arandas Alliance and the Countries Unification of Ingelmia have been at war for many years. The situation has been at a stalemate across the fortress of the Great Wall, which has never been penetrated since the foundation of Arandas. The gate to the fortress has remained firmly closed, but when it creaks open, the complexity of war starts to change dramatically.

Dropped it after 10min. Didn't like the mechanical designs because they were too incoherent, as if two completely different shows combined their mechs. MC was so hilariously angry all the time that he made me constantly laugh. And the story was rather generic.

Of course, it'll be 2-cour and things might change. So I'll just ignore it for the next 6 months and watch it if it ends up being good. In the meanwhile, I can pay more attention to mecha shows that are actually good.

Yeah, the first episode definitely had a pretty generic "hero falls into the cockpit of a new prototype" start, but I actually liked the premise it set up with the war, and with neither side appearing, at least on their face, to be the "right" side. While I didn't mind the differing designs of the robots, I did mind the really conspicuous CG, especially on the non-Argevollen models.

But we all know who the real hero of the episode was, this lady:

Argevollen's been steadily improving through the episodes, I honestly think episode 3 was the best yet, I hope the next few episodes take a little time to focus on worldbuilding and characters, with 24 episodes it has no need to rush through things.
