Art is... Gimp

Hello fellow artists.
I had a thread once, where I showed my Gimp pictures.
But it got old, and I hate reviving the same thread again and again.
So I decided to open up a new one.

If you know my current work, you´ll (hopefully) see improvement.
In my oppinion, I got a lot better, but I want to hear YOUR oppinions. Anyone is welcome to tell what´s on his mind, even if you don´t like my art. (But please, don´t just insult them, if that´s the case).

Without further speech, I´ll present you:

Very nicely done. However, the leaves look awkward. Perhaps you should've only had one leaf on there? And even then, there are way too many visible veins in the leaf. And the stem is too think.


I don't think the light would be shining behind the flower, considering where the sun is placed.


It's a little too blurred in my opinion. And where'd the hill come from!? XD


Now that's just. . Not good at all. It's too blurry, the light shouldn't be behind the flower and the leaves blowing around seem to have no source. Where are they coming from?


The black bottom border ruins the picture. Still, it is wonderfully drawn. Looks just like the bird is flying into the sunset. It's pleasing to the eyes.


Pretty much the same as ^ that.

First flower

Thanks for the advise, I´ll try a new one. But what do you mean "it´s too think"?

Second Flower

If this were a photograph, think of the "Camera" as further away, so, of course, the light isn´t behind, but over the flower. (I hope you get what I´m trying to say...)

Third Flower

I love the blur tool^^ And the hill was just an idea I had, but I ruined it, then I blurred the whole picture, and this came out^^

Sad to hear, because it is my favourite pic. The leaves or grass or whatever is just ... there. I really liked the effect, use your imagination (XD)

Looks good. I see your learning watercolor. When using watercolor, I suggest you use slightly sketchy lines that are a darker color than the main color. I see they sort of are, but they should be darker. Besides that, it's great.

And yus it's called watercolor in english! XD
