Ash and the others' age

I was wondering, do the anime characters get old? Some people believe Ash is 16 years in Diamond&Pearl, but why? His voice don't change, and some other changes didn't happen. Also May, Max, Brock, Jessie, James, and the other look like they're getting old? In my country Max do, because his voice actor was a child when started to dub him, and now he grew up and his voice is looks oldest than Ash's.

the characters are supposed to be ageless so i've heard... but they do show some signs of maturity, so, ^^ your guess is as good as mine.

I also think like that, but I don't think he's now 16 years old, I think he's 12-13 years old. In the japanese version it's more easy to notice the voice difference because the voice actress does a child voice in the episodes and in the recents she does a more teenager voice.

I think so that the girls (Haruka and the new in DP) are maybe to young to have chest lol

But I think that Ash is 15-16, because the quest for the badge is about one year each time. So with all the seasons, we can say that at least 5 years has past.

Oh yeah! In my country Ash is voiced by a MAN who is forcing his voice to do Ash! He started to voice Ash, when he was 15 years old, now he is twenty-something. His voice is getting younger, than getting older. Rarely women voice boys here.

Cartoon's ages never change take Maggie the baby from the simpsons, the she's been there from the start and the show's had 17 seasons so she should be like 16 or 17 but she's still a baby

In Battle Fronteir, Ash is around 14, so in D/P he'd be around 15 to start out with.
Heck he even looks older now.

You can base the others ages off of his.

I said IN KANTO. And Misty was over 12. Maybe around 16-18, but she was at least a teen (and the youngest Gym Leader, come to think of it).

Well, the only birthday that is mentioned in the anime (or, at least DUB) to my knowledge, is in the Indigo league. But I was always under the impression that..

Ash started at 10, and is 14 in the Battle Frontier

Misty started at 14, and was 18 the last time was saw here

Brock started at 17, and is now 21

May started at 10, and is now 11

Max started at 7, and is now 8

I havent seen much of the the New Pokemon series. I mean ash has grown more mature about things, as well as everyone else...does Brock still have a obbsession over girls? as in the first series...
