I know this subject has been touched upon many times, but come on, why is ash immune to aging?! Why do the writers insist on keeping him at 10 even if by now he should be in his mid-teens? I suppose they do this to keep him relate-able to the younger audience, but perhaps they could make at least a minuscule effort to address this? What do you guys think of his Deity-like status?

Are you new to television, specifically serial animated television?

It's very unusual for a show, any show, to go on as long as Pokemon. The team behind the anime admits they didn't expect to do anything past Kanto.

Ever watched The Simpsons? Family Guy? Flinstones? Jetsons? All long running (some cases, currently running) animated series with no notable signs of aging, but also have some sort of continuity.

The list of serial media that doesn't age or slowly ages gets much larger if you look at movies (James Bond) or most of American superhero comic book series.

TLDR: Just because it's been 10+ years our time doesn't mean it's the same for the anime. Even with ALL the episodes, assuming 1 day=1 episode (some are more ,some are less, but for the sake of argument), we'd be barely hitting the 2 year mark. And people can easily not change too much between 10 years of age and 12 years of age.
