Question for you all regarding the first legendary Pokemon Ash saw.

According to the info of Movie 8, the Ho-oh Satoshi/Ash saw was actually Mew transforming into the legendary bird. From the 1st episode of Pokemon and the 2nd last episode of the Johto Saga, Satoshi and Pikachu both saw Ho-oh flying through the sky. Do you think the Ho-oh is the real creature they saw, or do you think it's actually Mew who transformed into Ho-oh?
