No just no. He isnt smart or stupid because he doesnt bring certain pokemon. he does so cause he wants the team he built for so and so region to have them finish it to the end so its fair. And ash's team doesnt need much evolution. Me will be getting monferno and staraptor soon and buizel is strong enough as he is. Grotle should go all the way as most of his grass starters do. But you never know grotle could be how he is and we get an infernape. Ash also does use a thing thats called strategy. What? Ash strategy? Ype thats right he is using it more.

I completely agree...Ash doesn't need to bring over his old pokemon just to win, he catches new ones for each region to go all the way...and I honestly think he just might win the Sinnoh League seeing how they are giving each of the elites more air time than ever before...
Nah, the writers will only let him win the Pokemon League on the very final episode when the pokemon anime ends. Untill then no, I don't think so.
I'm inclined to partially agree with Starzy. Now he has the ultimate goal of becoming a Pokemon Master, now that means that he has to beat all the available leauges, or at least become the top competitor of one of the leauges(Ex: Cynthia) and once that happens one of two things can happen, one he can continue battling in leauges until he master's them all, or two, he can train his pokemon in seclusion, I think if any of these choices are going to happen its going to be the first one, but thats just my opinion.
It has been theorized that when one becomes a Pokémon Champion of a regional Pokémon League, one attains the title of master — however, this cannot be correct, as Ash won the Orange League without attaining the position. Indeed, other League champions haven't ever been referred to as Pokémon masters, either. Another theory is that, in the context of the anime, Pokémon masters are the members of the Elite Four. However, even these characters are not always referred to as Pokémon masters when Ash meets them.
