Ash's Charmander

Do you think Ash deserved to get Charmander in the anime?. Because Brock was the one
that seemed the most concerned about it. When Brock told Ash to keep it I tought it was
unfair because Ash didn't seem very concerned about Charmander.

Did it seem fair? Well it seemed fair to the Charmander. I see no reason for it to not be fair. Brock is a rock type trainer anyways, Charmander would not have fit in well.

Brock isn't a Rock-type trainer, he's a Rock-type Gym Leader... as well as a breeder.
He's got loads of Pokemon of types other than Rock.

The simple reason Ash got Charmander instead of Brock is, just like you said, because Brock told Ash to keep it.
So, if you want to blame anyone, make it Brock.

Ash keeping Charmander was probably the best otherwise he would've ended up like Brock's Mudkip ( Epic Fail).

Yeah. In fact, the first Pokemon he caught when he went with Ash wasn't a Rock or even a ground type. It was a Poison/Flying type by the name of Zubat.

The simple reason Ash got Charmander instead of Brock is, just like you said, because Brock told Ash to keep it.

They wanted to show off all the starters and the best way was to give them all to Ash since he had all the important battles.

It's still sorta lazy how they gave Ash all three starters.

I guess they wanted to give the advantage because he isn't all that great a trainer -
He's still failed to become a Pokemon master after 9 years or more.
