Well as everybody should now by now Ash has caught A turtwig and has also caught Paul's poor rejected Chimchar (which i think was a bad choice paul). But i personaly think only one of them will make it to the final stage and i would like to now what everybody thinks. I personaly think his chimchar will become a Infernape to show pauls whos boss and i think his turtwig will probably become a grotle or maybe even stay a turtwig. But this thread is here so i can read what every one else thinks

I think that neither of them will evolve, because Turtwig is too much like Bulbasaur and the writers love connecting things like that. Also, Chimchar will not evolve before defeating Paul in a dramatic and climactic battle, to show that Pokemon are strong the way they are, and Paul would learn a cliche lesson about a pokemon's potential strength. If it evolved before then, Paul would think of it as "that pokemon was weak as a Chimcar, but is strong as a Monferno. Pokemon are weak until they evolve". Given the past themes of the show's episodes, it is more probable that Chimchar will not evolve until after it defeats Paul, if it evolves at all.

Well, I believe Chimchar will become an Infernape, and that Turtwig will not evolve at all because he or she is much like Bulbasaur.

Tutrwig might evovle into Grotle. But Chimchar will evovle. It'll beat Paul and prove to him he should never relased it

Neither will evolve because the writers want Paul to be owned by unevolved pokemon in the Sinnoh league. :p

See,the Pokemon writers consider Ash as some kind of god. His Pokemon could NEVER evolve and they would be stronger than anything. Do you know why? Ash has friendship!!! Friendship I tell you! :( So,us,the viewers,watch on and point at the flaws and errors of Ash's battles. Pikachu will NEVER beat some of the Pokemon it beats.

I think Chimchar will defeat Paul in a climactic battle, and after it defeats Paul's last Pokemon, he will evolve into Monferno.
