    Greetings, I am Tony_the_Dark_Prominence!

I had bought Pokemon Soul Silver about a week ago. Due to many errors and stupid mistakes in competitive team building, I had to reset my game a couple of times. But, now I believe that my team looks pretty decent so far. My fellow Pokemon fans and video game fans... I need some help in Competitive team building. Please glance over my Pokemon as they are now:

    - Quilava
    LV:19, Nature: Lax, Ability: Blaze
Fire Blast, Quick Attack, Smokescreen, Ember
    - Scyther
LV: 17, Nature: Bashful, Ability: Technician (Thank god...)
Leer, Focus Energy, Pursuit, False Swipe
    - Zubat
LV: 17, Nature: Bashful, Ability: Ability: Inner Focus
    Wing Attack, Supersonic, Astonish, Bite
    - Kadabra
LV: 16, Nature: Mild, Ability: Inner Focus
    Teleport, Headbutt, Confusion

    Special notes/additional questions:
    - I am NOT new to anything that deals with pokemon. So there's no point in me using any rare candies. Rare candies is just a cheap way to level pokemon up... but the Pokemon "rate of growth" will be stopped. The only thing I am concerned about is the competition. The computer opponents are no threat to me whatsoever. Human players are SMARTER and they all rely on certain strategies and tactics! :P
    - I need to know... What pokemon should I catch next. My last two pokemon. I need some ideas of what my next two pokemon should be.
    - Please criticize my team as much as possible and make suggestions of what I should be doing next. As of now, I am about take the third gym badge. I believe that if one is to look at my team now... I would be EASILY exploited by ice types because of my flying pokemon.

    1. Your natures don't help what so ever, neutral natures suck and Mild is silly on Zubat when it has no sp.att's. Same goes for your sets. Let us know what your pokemon WILL be, not what they are currently.

    2. https://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/intro_comp_pokemon, https://www.smogon.com/dp/natures/and https://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/. You'll need those.

    3. You need to breed for better natures and IV's, odds are they are awful. Guide here

    4. EV train. Guide here.

Without those you will basically lose horribly time and time again.

As for team building, that is a whole different ball game. You need to know the threats in the metagame. Also take a look at our team building guide. Infact read everything in that sticky up to post #6.

I think that about covers it.

Oh and Stealth Rock owns 3 of your team, aka bad.

    This works.

I understand... because, when Pokemon are actually bred they get better stats than their parents do and they are able to learn new moves (Or egg moves.)
These guides really help a lot. If I am able to get stronger Pokemon this way then... I should be able to last a long time in the competitions.
To stretch a point, I had never really competed in any competition whatsoever and I tend to find many computer opponents boring and easy to counter. If I were to challenge a human player, however, things could get more interesting!! :P
