What is the best program from sprite/t-card creation? I hate using Paint and want something worth while. Any suggestions?
Yes, exactly right! ^____^ Use a program you're comfortable with. I only use MS Paint because I have nothing better to work with. Photoshop tends to be useful in some areas, but MS Paint is a very good program if you wish to do spriting. The sky's the limit with most programs, just to play around with some programs and see where your strengths and weaknesses are in them and see which one suits you the best. ^_~Cowrie said:I must be one of the few people around here who doesn't use MS Paint to make sprites (I've used Photoshop a lot, myself).
There really is no "best" program to use for making sprites - it's all dependent on what you're comfortable with. Meaning, if you're good with MS Paint, use that - and if you're good with another program, then, of course, use that program.
On the subject of a worthwhile program that's not MS Paint, and is somewhat better than MS Paint, I suggest looking up the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). I'd post a link to it here, but I dunno if I can, due to linking rules and whatnot. It's a totally free program that's a lot like Photoshop - though not quite - though it's a bit tricky to get the hang of it at first (in my opinion, anyways).
*shrug* That's the program I'm mostly using for my sprites at the moment, anyways (not able to find Photoshop disks, blah).
