Attack vs Sp. Attack

What is the difference between attack and sp. attack? I tried to look around the FAQ and such, but I cant find the difference between regular and special. Which types of attacks are a normal attack, and which types are special?

Attack deals with Defense. Special Attack deals with Special Defense. Depending on your Pokémon's stats, you may want to use only one of the Attack stats. you may also want to note your opponent's stats about Def and Sp. Def. Apart from that, they're almost the same.

Attack works with Physical moves and Sp. Atk with Special moves. You can check which move deals with which kind of attack because of the icon. The red ones are physical and the blue ones with two circles are Special. The gray ones don't deal with damage.
