4th Gen Azelf is really pissing me off

    I've got that bugger to the smallest blip of life, put him to sleep and still, no ball except the master ball seems to catch him, is there a trick to this or am I just really unlucky?

    PS. Where do i get giratina?
     
    I'd say your just really unlucky. I caught my azelf with my 3rd or something ultra ball, but it took about 30 to catch uxie.
    Giratina is found in a little path (I forget the name), off to one side in the route between Veilstone and Sunyshore. It only appears when you have seen every other pokemon in the sinnoh pokedex, however.
     
    Really, legendaries (except for Dialga/Palkia) have a catch rate so low that it realy doesn't affect much if you lower its health and put it to sleep. Just use Ultra Balls or Dusk Balls. Some people use Quick Balls, too, but I don't know how well they work.
     
    it took me forever also (like 25 ultras), and uxie took like 2 great balls lol... i don't understand
     
    Yeah uxie was really easy for me too...I just used AR to get 999 masterballs to catch all the ledgendaries:)

    AR= Action Replay, a commonly used hacking device.

    Anyway, yes, pretty much all Legends are a pain to catch. If you have Emerald, and you still have a Master Ball on it, I'd recommend cloning it a bunch of times, Beat Diamond, import the Mast Balls, then go on a Legendary catching spree.
     
    Well... Actually the only hard legendary for me to catch was.. Dialga Sadly.
    The rest I just caught with 10 OR less ultra balls, actually for Mesprit, I ran into it used ONE quick ball and caught it ON MY FIRST BALL.
     
    Cndymancan just gave me a few masterballs so im fine now :D

    OKay!. lisnt.. all u have to do is use Dusk balls!! that the secret! :)

    it took me forever to catch Azelf... if you think he's hard, don't even bother going for Mesprit
     
    All three of them were hard to catch it took me forever.

    I caught them easier at night with Dusk Balls. The trick I used is to put them to sleep when they have 1 Hp left.

    I'd say you're really lucky.

    My advice is just to weaken it and make it suffer special conditions.
    Also, switch the clock to nighttime and use Dusk Balls.

    FEAR and PIE are also VERY useful in this situation.
     
    I used a dusk ball on mine. Seriously, it's a lot easier. It's in a cave, so you have double the chances of catching one with a dusk ball than you do with an ultra ball.
     
    Well, i don't understand quick balls! when i tryed 2 catch Giratina, i first used about 5 ultra balls, 10 poke balls (on purpose for the timer balls), great balls (also on purpose)
    then another 10 ultra balls, i weakened it 2 the lowest red and put it 2 sleep, used 5 dusk balls then i used loads of timer balls, when i was about 2 give up i just used 1 quick ball, and guess what! I caught it! about 35 rounds after the match started! lol... i don't understand quick balls...
     
    Well now i have all three fairies and Im going after heatran.

    And yes I did try with a f**k load of dusk balls and it didnt get caught. So i used Candyman's Master ball....
