It took me a while because I kept killing him and then I had to soft-restart about a million times.

Sorry Shiny Umbreon.....

Uxie was pretty easy for me, actually it was incredibly easy :D

2 Dusk Balls+T-wave was all I did. Also every other Legend was easy since I got well I guess lucky I never used my Master ball :cheeky:

Ya Azelf was really hard for me. I just stocked up on Ultra balls and got it to sleep with red health and caught it. BTW Girantina is found in the spring path and then you adventure into turnback cave.

Some Legends Tend To Tick Me Off As Well. It Took Me A FULL WEEK Just To Get Uxie And Azelf.Don't Ask How Long It Took For Mesprit...

Also Azelf is a great competitive pokemon and it would be worth catching btw Giratina is caught after the Pokemon on route were ones of the caves are with the Magikarp thing happened neat there

You could try FEAR. Teach a low-level Rattata (or other Pokémon that learns the move) (or breed one) Endeavour, make it hold Focus Sash, then send it out against the legendary. Use Endeavour on the same turn that the legendary attacks you. It should be left at 1HP exactly. Put it to sleep, then start turfing Dusk/Repeat/Timer Balls until it's caught. Buy lots, because they like to escape from everything you throw at them, even when they're at their weakest.

I seems to work if you have a pokemon that is a higher lv compared the pokemon you are going to catch.Except for a master ball

I brought over my rayquaza from emerald who was level 87 and still it took ages and nothing....

Azelf was really hard for me the first time. I ran out of balls and it killed itself with struggle. The second time(since I had saved first) it wasn't that hard. I was on my tenth ultra ball and I got all mad, and then I suddenly caught him with an Ultra Ball. Uxie was easiest for me, and I caught Mesprit with a Gengar I got from the GTS. It had Hypnosis and Mean Look, so that helped.

I've got that bugger to the smallest blip of life, put him to sleep and still, no ball except the master ball seems to catch him, is there a trick to this or am I just really unlucky?

PS. Where do i get giratina?

you sound unlucky, then again if your using great balls or something stupid like that, thats your fault, and giratina is on the spring path wich shoes up after you beet the e4 on route 214, but have fun aimlessly wandering that cave (bring escape rope)

Woah! CALM DOWN! No need to get angry about it!

Anyways, you're just plain' unlucky. Just keep trying. If you can clone your MasterBall, do it! And use the MasterBall on Azelf if it's Shiny!!!

Well if u had read the rest of the thread besides the first post u would have seen that i caught it now....

l had real issues with Azelf. It was my third attempt and I got lucky with my eighth Ultra ball with my last poke down to 10 hp

I'd wanted to Save my master ball for mesprit as I've heard it's a pain. Can't seem to find it though.

Uxie no trouble for some reason?

Azelf's stubborn that's what i think. I caught dialga with 1 great ball, Mespirit with 2 greatballs, and Uxie with the masterball (i got frustrated so i just used masterball which was a bad move). Now i'm having trouble with that stubborn Azelf and i have no way of getting any masterballs now because my dad sold my games T_T(i had LG, and sapphire).

Congrats on Catching Azelf Diageo.

p.sI found a walkthrough and i was following the direction on how to find Mespirit here's the mespirit part:
It shows up on the map as a flashing symbol but every time you fly to it, it moves somewhere else. Also, it runs away in battle so you are going to need mean look or use your masterball. The problem with the masterball is that there is another pokemon later on that runs away so you might want to use it on that one. I suggest Crobat with Mean Look to stop it from running away. But first, we need to encounter it...Here is a trick I figured out that helps battle it.
1) Go to a main city that it goes near (Jubilife works fine).
2) Park yourself near the exit of the town and look in the top left corner of
your screen.
3) Walk out of the town and when the top left shows the route name, that makes
Mesprit change it's location.
4) Walk back into the town and it changes again.
5) Keep doing this over and over until Mesprit shows up on the Route you are on

sorry if it's long didn't mean for it to be >.<;;; but that's how i caught mespirit.
also if you guys already caught the 4 legendaries then sorry for this post.

I caught Uxie and Azelf yesterday, I caught them with Timer balls but Dusk balls should work really well considering that they're in cave's...just save your money up and do what I did, stock up on alot of different types of balls and then save game before fighting them and if you faint them or get pissed, just reset and try again...glad to help...though Mesprit is a pest to catch, running away all the time...can't even get to the area where he is anymore, even with the marking map...sigh, i used my masterball on palkia cause palkia got me impatient.
Hope I helped you out some...

Dusk Balls are your best bet since they are 4 times more effective than a standard Pokeball while Ultra Balls are only 2 times as effective.

With that being said, Dusk Balls are twice as effective as Ultra Balls, so get them into low HP with status and use Dusk Balls.

why are we talking about balls? :D
