[Custom Feature Question] B2W2 Style In-Battle Quote

So I've seen some threads that ask how to make B2W2 styled in battle quotes and music changes, like when the gym leader is on their last Pokémon, or your rival says something when you take out their first Pokémon. But in all of those threads, the person is using EBS. I like EBS, but I'm making a demake, so I want the graphics to not be gen 5 styled. Is there any way to do the in-battle quotes and music changes when using the regular Pokémon essentials battle system?
