5th Gen Backstory Behind Alder

After beating the game I couldn't help but to notice several statments on how Alder lost his Pokemon. Would anyone have any information on how he lost his old team because its been bothering me while I've played the game and I'm really curious!

I noticed that too, it did confuse me a bit so I took a look at bulbapedia;

It is noted that, in the past, Alder's starter Pokémon died of illness, and in despair over not being able to save it, he began traveling around aimlessly. Also, Ghetsis's dialogue suggests that he may not have actually won the title of Champion, instead being requested by the Pokémon League to take the position.

Thanks! I hope they update the story behind Alder's pokemon though. I'd really like to learn more on the illness his pokemon had and what was his starting pokemon!

well if he is native to unova it would probably be one of the main starters Im guessing tepig. And he might of gotten it from cedric juniper so maybe a little backstory on both of them.

I noticed this throughout certain parts of the story & wouldn't what Pokemon it was, but then it would be just Tepig/Snivy/Oshawott, because there the starters of the region. It isn't much of a big deal now; if he appears in the anime we'll probably get more of a story then.
