    ((spoiler, I haven't made an intro thread in 10 years whoops))

    Hello everyone! My name is Road aaaand I was told this is where I say hi! c:

    GENERAL INFO?
    I usually go by Road. Currently I'm 22 and already graduated with a BA in Anthropology and Linguistics. Right afterwards I applied for the JET Program, and now I work as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan! I teach English to high schoolers in Aomori prefecture. (Have you ever seen those articles about tunas that sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars? Yeah that's in Oma, I live a little south of that town!)

    POKEMON HISTORY??
    I've been battling and trading in Pokemon since the release of DPPt. Unfortunately I'm terrible at battling so I quit soon after Platinum came out and have been trading ever since. My passion is Shiny Pokemon; at one point I had 400/493 of the dex, but due to losing that copy of Diamond I was set back pretty far. I took a break just before BW came out, then an even longer one after B2W2 and didn't return to the scene til ORAS came out. Once again I've taken up the quest to have every Shiny Pokemon! (Ideally this gets done before Sun and Moon but, y'know, dreams).

    WHY I'M HERE???
    Shameless plug to Tribute/Noir, one of my oldest Pokemon buds, for sending me here. I hail from the Serebii Forums which have always been hectic and was told this would be a better place to trade around. Also, secondary community where I can get more trades? What's to lose, right? ;3

    I think that's it? I'm looking into making a trade thread but am slightly walled with the overwhelming customization/coding available hahah. Hopefully once I get through that, I'll get into trading with you all!

    Hello and welcome! There definitely is a big trading scene here, so you're covered there. It's awesome that you live in Japan, it's definitely one of the few places on my list of places to visit! :D

    Ah I'm so glad!! Hopefully one day you can~ Visiting Tokyo is fun, but it's not really Japan; very globalized compared to the rest of the country. If you can, I recommend getting out to some of the smaller towns. That's where you'll find real Japanese culture! c:

    That's awesome that you furthered your education into something cool, and into a career where you can educate others. Also, it's awesome that you live in Japan!

    I've been a Poke'mon breeder and EV trainer of Poke'mon ever since DPPt. The last Poke'mon game I ever played was Poke'mon X and Y.

    @Archy: Ahh thank you! It's a pleasure to be here! c: Ho boy yeah, JET is pretty competitive, but I think if you have a passion for cultural exchange and making a difference, you can do it! If yer interested, I always encourage people to try! c: Heh, I do make it sound cool but I'm kinda out in the boonies. I live in the center of my city, but if I drive 10 mins in any direction, there's farmland or undeveloped land for miiiiiiiles hahah. Ahh I feel the struggle!! I couldn't resist AS; RSE was my gen and the call of nostalgia was too strong. I'm already working on a trade thread and definitely lookin forward to trading! c: Thanks so much for the support, I'll keep ya in mind!

    But, anyways, I can finally relate to someone here who's into shinies more than battling. So far I've uh, only bred... one. But hey, someday I could have as many as you.

    Hahah, hi there! Don't worry, I don't think you have to have a history with Pokemon to enjoy it and all that. Ooo yes excellent! I will admit I haven't played through the game myself though (I do own it, but after watching some playthroughs I haven't been able to decide which route I'll take; the way the game changes makes it tricky hahah).

    Yup, that's what I did all those years ago lol. I still haven't worked my way back up to that number since then; as I'm sure you know, people are not all that interested in Shinies alone, so it's a tricky business. @@ Ah don't worry, I haven't bred any! I have succeeded in using DexNav to get a few Shinies (Purugly some months ago, then Wurmple and Zigzagoon more recently), and I did RNG some in past gens, but the rest of my collection is traded. I know some dedicated people who have hatched/caught most of their own Shinies tho! Stay strong and you can do it! c:
