post and discuss your reactions about barack obama.

i think president obama is doing a very good job. first let us all remember he came into office on a downward spiraling economy. a war was also left of in his hands. obama thinks smart, and he does it fast. the stimulus package, did it work? yes, it did and it kept banks from filing for bankruptcy. enron is belief is the root of what started massive whole in the economy. charging way too much money for energy in california. made them go into dept. how is a country of fifty states going to get its necessary tax money if one of its major money trees is in deep debt? legalize marijuana? obama has also helped businesses stay in business. he has also helped small businesses that employ people. somewhere in austin my uncle and his family support small businesses and help them keep in business. they also haven't been hit hard by the recession. one of the best aspects of obama is his tone in the power of his speeches. i believe someone who runs a country should have great speech skills as well as leadership skills. in every speech he gives, he gifts the audience with hope. now recently the health care bill passed. and it makes me feel bad that people talk bad about it because it will cost to much. i really never understood how people are willing to make estimations on things like this that causes chaos. people should be glad that everyone will receive health care. and it's a start to changing the health care system. it's better than not having a start, nothing goes perfect the first time you try it. for the most part the thing that makes me feel the worst is how the american people hate on obama, and put down everything he tries to do. that is americas president and should be treated with respect. the media also likes to spice things up with republicans and democrats. and sometimes only give one side of the story. sometimes they get the peoples attention by getting a specialist. i mean an economist will go on T.V. and say "well there's going to be a more job loss in the next four months". how do they know what's going to happen four months from now? tho i did find it funny when they showed "obamas faces of frustration". they were funny faces to me. but they also symbolized strong emotions in deep need of support. in my final thought is that we should treat the first black president with the respect he deserves. he works hard every day trying to find every way to help improve the country. and for what i believe the future holds for this country is what happened after the great depression, greatness. we are in 2010 and are becoming beyond advance that we were say fifty years from now. we are becoming fuel efficient with cars such as hybrids and the new leaf my nissan. we have 3-D T.V. and movies. we must remember that there is an "invisible hand" that helps regulate the market. i know that we will all see improvement in the coming future..

I like Obama, but why is he responsible for 3D TVs? Or even more specifically 3D movies? O_o

Because Obama's the new Chuck Norris....... :o

Sadly, I don't pay attention to that stuff enough to know whether he's really doing the best he can or not. Maybe he is and that's why I don't really hear people make fun of him like people did with George, but then again that could be because people are afraid they will be called racist. That's probably a good thing though, as I'm sure it's easier to do your job without the majority of a nation making fun of you and breathing down your neck.

He's our President and im glad that's the case. Things have gone pretty well so far, lots has been done in the legislation department to help the American people, and that's all we can ask for.

Ermm.... Obama isn't that great, what did the stimulus do? That one piece of legislature cost more than the whole Iraqi war.

Obama's okay. There's nothing super-wrong with him, but there isn't anything super-right either (unless you want to get into race issues...which I don't).

Though the healthcare bill was pretty cool (even without a public option).

Seriously, what does Obama, 3DTV and 3D movies have in common? Nothing.

He's in trouble. His approval rating's down a lot, around 50% of people who were polled think he's doing a bad job, the Tea Party's gaining more momentum and him trying to defend his faith isn't helping him either because of the 9/11 Mosque.

He keeps on preaching about new jobs being made. Where are they, Barack? Why haven't I seen ANYTHING in my region?! I haven't seen any change at all, Mr. President!

To be honest, I only supported Obama during his run for presidency because I want to see a black president.

There, the cat's out of the bag. America gave him a chance, and he's doing a bad job. From what the teachers and adults are saying, he's only making it worse. Plus, that oil spill in the Gulf only made him look worse. I honestly don't think he won't be able to make it to his second term in office if things stay like the way they are now.

Looking at this as a resident of the UK it appears he's doing a good job.

The healthcare bill which had you Yanks very split was good in my opinion, your poor/elder folk are not looked after at all well enough.

*This might not be correct* I think he finally got the US to ratify to the Kyoto Protocol.

He's given good amounts of aid money to Haiti and other disasters.

The whole Guantanamo Bay thing when he first got in.

As well as these things he also seems like a nice, likeable guy. At least other nations aren't laughing at your idiot president like they were with George W Bush.

I don't see why defending the rights of American citizens should hurt him in any way at all. If a group of Muslims want to build a recreation center for Muslim's then they should ****ing be allowed. Americans are very irrational sometimes.

Honestly, if that's how you vote, based on appearance of all things, then you have no right to complain.

    1. His approval ratings are still twice that of Bush (If you compare the terms)
    2. Teachers/adults aren't a good source for un-biased political facts. Everybody is biased.
    3. Blaming Obama for BP's screw up/an actual freak accident is bad.

You do realize the Tea party movement plays into the democrats favor, right? It splinters the Traditional republican voting base.

Defending his faith? I hope you aren't insinuating he's a muslim. Not that that's wrong to be one, but he isn't. Another popular lie, unfortunately.

I honestly only voted for him because John Mccain would have done a horrible job and because I didn't want another white president.

Had McCain picked a better VP and run a better campaign i may have voted for him. I like the younger, the 2000 election version much more.

Possibly if McCain picked a better VP, I would have voted for him. But that's not 100% cause I'm a loyal Democrat.
The thing I like about Obama though is he finds it easy to be his self while having stress put on him. He can share his outlooks on a situations without fear of politicians judging him.
I think the last president like that was Clinton, and I really wish you could run another time to see him back in office.
But back on subject, I think Obama is doing pretty good in office right now. If we still had Bush, we'd still be in Iraq.

I wasn't trying to stir the pot on that subject. All he did was say that they have a right to build it and certain people are using that to attack him by saying that Obama is a muslim. My friend believes that side and really thinks negatively of him.

As for the Tea Party, I don't like them. Maybe you're right about them splitting the GOP, but you got enough people already disheartened with Obama and with the "We Love Republicans" news Channel and Glenn Beck on their side, something will happen. We still got a couple of months until Mid-Term Elections.

I have no objections to them building a mosque down there, but I'm not from New York. Why don't you go down to New York City and ask the people down there what they really feel? What happens if some group attacked a city in Canada and years later, they want to build something near the site of the attack?

From what ive seen, a few tea party candidates did defeat seated Republicans in a few primaries, I don't remember particulars though. I prefer traditional conservatism over the Tea Party mumbo-jumbo though.

It is natural for the party in power to loose Congressional/Senatorial seats in midterm elections though. This year will certainly be no exception, especially now that their seems to be a lot of angst directed towards Incumbents from both parties and long term politicians in general. Well we'll find out in November. :/

Uh not really, the Dems are going to lose the House and possibly the Senate, all because of the energy that the Tea Party is generating.

Anyway, Obama's doing a pretty poor job in every area in my opinion. I'm glad the country is finally seeing through all the hype.
