    Hello Pokénerds!

    I have just started my base set Pokémon collection and I'm trying to compile a detailed list for ALL the cards I'm looking for. (1st Edition, Shadowless, Unlimited, Errors and any other special cards)

    I don't know if anyone at Pokécommunity is still into the base set (I'm new here).

    Hopefully some of you guys still have interest in these cards and want to share information to help build the list.

    I also have some questions about distinguishing the differences on the cards.

    The goal is to have all the cards in the base set documented, over time this list will become very detailed and may show all the base set Pokémon cards in existence.

    Let me know if you're interested in helping! I'm going to start getting the list ready.

    Here are some cards that I have either seen or have heard about:

    Prerelease Raichu (good luck trying to get this, less than 10 in existence and one sold a few years ago for over $10,000!)
    Ninetales that does no damage (only in shadowless form, I think)
    W stamped Wartortle
    Red Cheeks Pikachu (shadowless only)
    E3 stamped Pikachu (both shadowless and regular)
    Jumbo Pikachu (Japanese promo, but in English! I think there was a Charizard that was just like this, but I can't remember for sure)
    50 HP Vulpix (only the final print run of Base set had this corrected version. All other versions had it as HP 50)
    Wartortle that depicts a Wartortle in the evolution box instead of Squirtle.

    That Pikachu was from Jungle.

    Here are some of the current notes I have for the list.



    #2 Blastoise • Error no "stage" in the "put Blastoise on the stage 1 Pokémon" text.

    #6 Gyarados • Error printed with the "6/102" too far to the left.

    #8 Machamp • Only 1st Edition

    #12 Ninetales • Error no the damage done for attacks in 1st edition and shadowless.

    #33 Kakuna • Error "Length, Length" instead os "Length, Weight" in 1st edition set as well as the unlimited set.

    #42 Wartortle • Error have pictures of Wartortle in its evolution box or have a small type symbol next to the HP.

    #44 Bulbasaur • Error "Length, Length" instead os "Length, Weight" in 1st edition set as well as the unlimited set.

    #45 Caterpie • Error have their HP's listed as "HP ##" instead of "## HP" in 1st edition only.

    #47 Diglett • Error have their attack energy cost symbols rotated 90 degrees in 1st edition and unlimited

    #54 Metapod • Error have their HP's listed as "HP ##" instead of "## HP" in 1st edition only.

    #58 Pikachu • Error red cheeks in 1st and unlimited.

    #62 Sandshrew • Error attack says "this attack does nothing" while it's supposed to say "that attack does nothing".

    #67 Voltorb • Error card refers to Poké Balls as Monster Balls in 1st edition and unlimited.

    #68 Vulpix • Error cards have their HP's listed as "HP ##" instead of "## HP".

    #102 Water Energy • Error has no space between the margin and the water symbol, along with "ENERGY".



    Any corrections or additions to make? Please provide a reference link to any content you want added to the list.

    I didn't understand that in some cases an error card may be the only print available for an edition.



    Here is an updated list of error cards that "add" to the total number of cards in the "1st Edition, Shadowless, Unlimited, Errors and any other special cards" collection.



    #2 Blastoise = "Put Blastoise on the 1 Pokémon" (Unlimited) Error

    #12 Ninetales = No Damage (Shadowless) Error

    #14 Raichu = Prerelease (Unlimited) Extra

    #42 Wartortle = Evolution Box (Unlimited) Error + W Stamped (Unlimited) Extra

    #47 Diglett = Sideways Energy Symbol (Unlimited) Error

    #58 Pikachu = Red Cheeks (1st Edition + Shadowless) and E3 (Red Cheeks Shadowless + Unlimited) Extras

    #68 Vulpix = Corrected (Unlimited)

    #102 Water Energy = Energy Symbol Margin (Unlimited) Error



    I'm going to add scans to the special cards soon, if you have any really high quality ones please send them my way.



    Also think of any final cards that should be added to this list so we can get a good head count of the total number of cards in "1st Edition, Shadowless, Unlimited, Errors and any other special cards" collection.
