I only got to 50 because I pretty much threw together some random Pkmn that I had EV'd and went for it. In the battle I lost, I swear to God, my Garchomp outran an Infernape and them got outrun by a Machamp. I was like, "WTF?!"

I'm really going to lose to the Battle Frontier in Platinum. The opponents' pokemon gradually get advantages that beat your pokemon and have moves which can take down your pokemon. It will be near impossible to get gold unless you have a great team. I don't know about d/p because I haven't really tried, but from past experiences in Emerald it was.
