6th Gen Battling Error for Pokemon Y and OR

    I'm having an issue that regards to battling Pokemon Y with Pokemon OR. [Note: I have Pokemon Y and my friend has Pokemon OR] To start off, me and my friend wanted to start our games over again and have this little rival challenge. When both of us beat a gym leader, we face off in 3v3 battles until the games were beaten. Then one final 6v6 battle to determine a winner for the challenge. (You can try this too if you want!) Now to the problem, for some reason when me and my friend battle locally through PSS. The battle just stops before starting. Let me explain, see what happens is that the process to starting a battle acts just fine. You agree to battle and select your team right? When we both pick what pokemon to use, the battle begins. But what happens is that when the intro for the "VS." appears and fades away, my friend's game says that an error has occurred while my game just freezes on a blank screen but still plays the battle theme. It stays like that until I reset the game. I'm not sure what is happening but I want to know why this is happening.
     
    What exactly are the teams you're using? If your friend with Omega Ruby is using a Mega Stone that didn't exist in X/Y, a Primal, Cosplay Pikachu, or Mega Rayquaza, that will prevent you from battling.
