4th Gen Behind In Levels

    Who here is behind in levels? I squared off against Candice with level 35 and 36 Pokemon. Am I too far behind and should I train before going to Lake Acuity, or am I okay and should keep going?
     
    hmm....you may want to think about gaining some levels. but...its all up to you and what you think, really.
     
    Well if your pokemon arent 5+ levels stronger then the wild pokemon, then stop and take some time to make them stronger
     
    That's a good idea. I should try to stay about 5 levels higher than the wild Pokemon. Right now the Snovers are 34 and the Sneasels are 35. Look at Dusk's trainer card. That's what I have. I get lucky by beating more powerful Gym Leaders with critical hits and type advantages.

    Well never mind Candice's Pokemon are around that level, I suppose. Still. Level up at the very least 5 more levels.

    At that point in the game my team was lv. 45 to lv. 50.

    After you reach lv. 40, her gym should be easy to defeat but have one Pokemon (Your starter is easier to train so use that one) and have it at lv. 45 (or at least 43) and match that one up against her Abomasnow.
     
    Well, my Ponyta is now the strongest because I used him against 2of Candice's Pokemon. Then I used Torterra on 1, and Golduck on 1. Okay, what's the best place to train around my level without much advantage (not Snowpoint, although they're around the same level as me, the wild Pokemon are all ice, like Sneasel (also Dark) and Snover (also Grass)?
     
    I beat her with my lv 35/6/7 Blaziken. :D
    It was no actual challenge....

    Might I suggest a bit of EV Training? ~

    I hated Candice's gym, though. Not because I found it difficult, but beacause actually getting up to her was tough work in itself with all that puzzle-crap. @__@

     
    On Pearl I was seriously behind when I battled Candice. My Monferno was 34 I believe? I still went through with ease, since it had Flame Wheel and an attack boosting nature. :3

    On Diamond my highest level was 55 I think. So yeah, I'd say I was behind. XD
