Hello Bell, I have not hardly ever seen some one with almost the same likings as me, I play Zelda often on my gamecube that has 4 of the games, "Ocarina of Time" as the one I play the most, Majoras Mask is 2nd, Big Bang Theory I watch every night except for Fridays and Sundays, Sheldon is my fav., I also like playing the mario games, I play those now on my SNES, other than that, I like that you aspire to be a teacher, what are some others that you have?

I still have my Gamecube with the GBA attachment! I had two copies of WindWaker, two copies of Twilight Princess and a copy of Ocarina of Time + Master Quest on GCN, but I sold a copy of each + OoT+MQ when I was short on cash :pink_blush: I never had the Majora's Mask collector's addition, though, but I did invest in the Wii port as soon as it was available on eShop a year or two ago. It was free on Club Nintendo (250 coins) and is now again available as a coin exchange option.

Sheldon is also my favourite character. I identify with many of his quirks and find him utterly hilarious.

I never owned a SNES, but my aunt still has hers that she uses to entertain her younger kids, and she has the Mario game that is a collection of Mario games. I don't know what it's called, though :pink_blush:

I've also wanted to be a librarian (my back-up to teacher), a ballerina (as a child), and a figure skater (again, child). French is in demand in Canada, and since I really like the subject it's appropriate. I currently tutor French and have done so numerous times in the past. I've acted as a teacher's assistance for English and French in highschool (I was 20), too.

So you don't play it at your Aunts when you visit?

I have a dysfunctional family :pink_frown: My aunts hate eachother, my mother neglects her children, my cousins are all involved with CAS. The aunt who owns the SNES is apparently back into coke and alcohol and has broken into her younger sister's house a few times to trash the place.

I also live very far from them now, which I think is best, so no access to it. I use emulators :pink_nod:

Well that is quiet dysfunctional, but out of curiosity what is CAS?

CAS is Children's Aide Society. It's the society in Canada that takes care of reports of abuse against and neglect of children, rehomes them, takes them in as "Crown Ward" children, etc. If you see someone abusing a child, it's the place you call to launch an investigation. My file, alongside those of my siblings, is quite expansive due to numerous issues with my mother and my father's unintentional neglect (single parent, night shift, four kids, lots of health issues i.e. diabetes... very hard to manage overall). My cousins also have large files due to neglect, abuse, drug use, etc. that occurs in their households.

I'm not sure what the American equivalent is :pink_no:

Goodness, that's alot of issues and here we call it CPS - Child Protective Services, but I have never had any dealings. I hate to hear tht you have had to deal with that your self.

I think they were planning on rehoming us at one point. They took us away from my dad in my early tweens and had us stay over at some random woman's house with her kids. It was in the middle of nowhere and we were forced to stay there. The woman handling our case file told us we weren't allowed to stay with our dad that night and she escorted us to that home (drove us and all). It was awful. I think I was about twelve.

Good thing nothing came of that! I think that event coincided with my sister's second serious hospital visit for her diabetes. CAS was concerned about neglect and the health of my sister mostly due to frequent hospital visits related to her diabetes. I'm pretty sure it was my mum that would call in exaggerated accounts of abuse, neglect, etc. since she has a vindictive and hypocritical character. It's sad. I don't have a mother. I had to adopt my boyfriend's mother, my babysitter (she's in her forties now) and my previous neighbour as mother figures. Such nice people, though :pink_nod:

Have not talked to my biological mother in a year. I told her she can phone me when she's decided to apologize for saying hurtful things to me and for libel against my father. My mother hasn't been in our lives and my dad has never said one bad thing about her. My mother makes it a routine when she phones. I don't want to deal with that anymore. People tell me to confront her and forgive her, but I've done that many, many times. She's in her mid-forties and needs to learn that the kids she never raised have grown up and aren't susceptible to her "believe me, I'm so hard done by" facade.

That is just a horrible thing to do to children, I would like to say "yes talk to your mother" but I won't, my unmom is just as bad and I haven't talk to her in more than 7 or so years. Some people deal with it the way they see fit for them selves, so I understand you point on your mother issue.

Yeah, it's definitely very touchy. It doesn't seem like much to ask a parent for an apology - they're not immune from wrongdoing, even when it's regarding their children! - but she seems even prouder (or perhaps arrogant, not sure) than my father and refuses to call me :pink_tongue:

I told my brother, who has a good rapport with my mother, to tell her on numerous occasions to phone me if she wants, that I won't bite, but yeah. She doesn't even know how I'm doing in school! Her first kid in university and she doesn't even bother with me. That said, she's always taking my successes as her own - "You're intelligent because of my side, not your father's" - and isn't particularly proud of 90% marks since it's "expected" from me.

She's a bad influence in any case. A real downer :pink_no:

Anyway!

We were almost rehomed from what I remember, but one of my cousins was actually taken physically about ten years ago when he was about four and put into the care of my other aunt. It was an awful situation. He was treated so badly by my other aunt who cherished her own children more than her nephew. She'd take his toys to give to her children, remove the batteries of toys so he couldn't play with them properly, etc. I can only imagine what it's like when there's absolutely no blood linking the rehomed child and the temporary family *shudders*

Well some parents just should not be parents after the first if they weren't that good to begin with, but don't even think about it, live your own life is my motto.

Indeed! Very good words :pink_nod: Thanks for so much interest in my topic, by the way!

Don't be shy about questions, guys! I'll answer everything in detail :pink_boogie:

Share three of your favourite classical/instrumental pieces? :3

Looking at the information in your first post, you're primarily a Nintendo gamer. Do you own any other consoles and, if not, would you ever consider buying any in the future?

What is the worst fantasy novel you've ever read? What made it so terrible?

Do you watch much anime? If so, which genre do you find yourself gravitating towards the most, and why?

Finally...what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Spoiler: Greensleeves

Spoiler: Schindler's List

Spoiler: Walking in the Air

Last one isn't instrumental, but it's on my "The Best Classical Album in the World... Ever!" CD, so I can get away with it lol

Looking at the information in your first post, you're primarily a Nintendo gamer. Do you own any other consoles and, if not, would you ever consider buying any in the future?

Historically, I've owned: 2x Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Sega GameGear, Playstation 1, 3x Nintendo 64, 1x Nintendo Gameboy Pocket, 2x Nintendo Gameboy Colour, 1x Nintendo Gameboy Advance, 1x Nintendo Gamecube, 1x Nintendo DS, 1x Nintendo DS Lite, 2x Nintendo 3DS, 1x Xbox, 2x Xbox 360, 2x Nintendo Wii, 1x Nintendo WiiU.

I currently have the two Xbox 360s, the WiiU, one Wii, two 3DSs and one Gamecube with Gameboy Player attached. My most vast video game collection was for the Xbox 360 with fifty games at one point, but I've since pawned them: most were bought for my ex', and I don't have time to play RPGs anymore. I believe I kept Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata, though.

That said, Eternal Sonata is amazing. Not the greatest game ever - characters, especially Polka, are wtf and all the attacks are the same across characters just with different names and weapons - but its incorporation of classical music as a main theme is ♥

What is the worst fantasy novel you've ever read? What made it so terrible?

Read part of Twilight's third book and stopped basically five pages in when it becomes the aggravated sex scene. I do not endorse Twilight at all.

If that doesn't count, then I can say I'm on the fence about the Wheel of Time series. First, the author died before finishing the series - some fear the same of Game of Throne's author - and second, literally the entire thing drones on. It's written super well and the story is interesting; however, it spans a bijillion books and the problem feels like it never will be solved, and now it actually can't unless they hire a stand-in writer lol

Do you watch much anime? If so, which genre do you find yourself gravitating towards the most, and why?

I do watch anime more than anything. I like the fantasy, silly, non-sensical anime with a touch of emotion that can really get to you: Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Yakitate! Japan, Ah! My Goddess.

I've watched Elfen Lied, Kotoura-San, The Devil is a Part-Timer, Is This a Zombie?, Bleach, Ghost Hunt, Beating Angel Dokuro-Chan, Death Note... Crunchyroll used to have a list of everything I've watched, but I guess that's since been erased since creating a profile there in 2007.

There a bunch of animes that I've partially watched, but I couldn't name them all.

I want to watch One Piece, but it's such a huge commitment lol

Finally...what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
