I don't know how many of you are using your Berry Farm, but I know I am and I'm loving it! The one quirk I quite enjoy is that by crossing certain species, you can get a third type of berry. However, I've only come across three of these genetic modifications, being:

    • Pomeg = Mago + Iapapa
    • Qualot = Pecha+Oran
    • Ganlon = Qualot+Tanga

I haven't figured out how many crosses there are, but I'm working on it.

Does everyone else like the berry farms? What mutations have you had?

I use it. I haven't played at all today, just yet. I only had one mutation, that was the qualot mutation. Thanks on the heads up on a few more. ^^

I've discovered this as well. You simply plant the two berries you want to cross next to each other. For example, you'd plant a Pecha and Oran berry in adjacent spots, and eventually you'll find a Qualot berry growing on one of the trees. It's a random chance though, so it won't happen every time you plant the two berries next to each other. After you get your first mutation a scientist will show up and comment on it. She'll stay in the farmhouse thereafter, and you can report any new mutations to find to her. Conveniently, she'll keep a list of mutations you've found in case you forget.

I just plant a ton of random ones and if a mutation comes out, well awesome! I bought the x and y guide that gives all mutations so idc about finding any at this point in time.

does this require the surprise mulch?

No, but I noticed that when I used Surprise Mulch on two entire rows, every single tree had a mutation so it either increases the chances a ton or guarantees a mutation.
