3rd Gen Berry thief in Battle Tower

    Like in ruby/saffire, are you able to steal berries in pokemon emerald at the battle tower, such as the leichi berry?Your response will be appreciated. Thanks
     
    You can still berries from pokemon outside of the battle tower. This is not new..
    But that Liechi Berry is rare. So I'd keep that for a pokeblock or something.
     
    Ya, only wild pokemon can have their berries swiped. Using the move "Theif" BTW.

    Knock-off is helpful for getting berries off of competitors in the Battle Tower though ;)

    That is not true. You can steal berries from a trainer's pokemon. And, you don't just have to use Thief. You can also use Covet.
     
    Oh, my mistake ^^;

    But when you theif the trainer's pokemon's berries...do you keep them? 0_o;

    Not thief, It's another move that let's you keep the item. My Kadabra knows it.
     
    thats trick which switches the item, only good for net battle.Thief steals the item so after you "steal" it its equiped to your pokemon.
     
    stealing/covet

    well i know in the battle frontier...(battle pike...etc)

    I could NOT keep the berry/item i stole..after i was done (didnt lose!)I checked my Teddiursa (theif) and Linoone (covet)....Nothing...

    Same seems to be with all the Battle areas..frontier or not???

    I've tried stealing berries and items from Pokemon in Battle Tents and Battle Frontier, and it seems like the things you stole are returned to it's original owner after that battle :/

    I guess this is done to keep things fair... after all you get your item returned after they are stolen in Tent/Frontier. Why shouldn't it be the same for NPC's?
     
    It works the same way on Pokemon Stadium 2 too. You steal something and return it at the end. I did that with a Kings Rock once.
