Special Absol is always a good idea. Also, he hasn't stated anything about competitive battling so I think a special Absol would be fine for beating any game.

Luvdisc can beat any game too, but that doesn't make it a good idea to use one. That only shows how pathetic the in-game AI is. Unless you are a die-hard fan of that unfortunate Pokemon, there are just too many better options to use than Absol.

Really, you can beat the game easily with just about any Pokemon. I did an entire playthrough of Sapphire once with all pre-evolutions of really bad Pokemon (stuff like Barboach, Numel, etc.) just for the heck of it, to see how hard it would be (which it really wasn't). The in-game AI has always been terrible in Pokemon games (they did improve it a little in Emerald, but still not enough).

Since they are all obtainable BEFORE the Elite Four, I consider them to be before the end of the game. Swampert because it is pure win, Groudon because it is Uber, and Regice due to being highly useful against Drake and a few other E4 Pokémon.

Yes you can use this with the thought that you used two ubers to help you beat the Elite Four. By far they are the weakest in the game.
