1st Gen Best Pokemon To Get In Yellow?

Hi, first post. Just started a new game on Yellow (GBC) and was wondering what you think the best Pokemon in the game are? I'm not very far in but so far have a Pikachu, Nidoran and Pidgey all on level 10, any recommendations?

If you ask people around Kanto, they will give you 3 powerful pokemon called Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. They are the 3 starters from Red/Blue, and are highly recommended.

Go catch an Abra at the route north of Cerulean city, then get it to lvl 16 so it evolves to Kadabra. The only thing that's going to stop your Kadabra is an Alakazam.

You should catch a Cubone. Not because it's powerful, but because it can be traded for a Machamp (well, a Machoke, but it evolves upon trading).
Machamp is a powerful physical attacker and can take a hit too, and unless you have 2 Game Boys and a link cable, there's no other way to get it.

Technically speaking, it's Mewtwo. Back in Yellow it was a beast, (compared to HG/SS 'stat swap failure') but I guess you have a long way to go until you reach it...so I guess that for now you should stick with a good team, other than relying on a single, strong pokemon.
