4th Gen best starter Pokemon

i just bought diamond but i don't know what starter Pokemon to pick. i know that this topic has probably already brought up. thanks for the help

I'd say torterra (even though I have infernape). It's type and high stats (except speed) rock!

Well, I Chose ChimChar when I got diamond. I guess it depends on what type you like. Ill fill you in on their types though.

Piplup-Water
Prinplup-Steel,Water

Turtwig-Grass
Grotle-Ground,Grass

Empoleon makes an incredible wall, with 11 elemental resistances. Infernape makes a good sweeper, with equal attack and special attack, as well as great speed, and Torterra makes a good physical-oriented Pokemon in both attack and defense. One Ice Beam will kill it though. :P

So my vote is Piplup.

I say Torterra is the best because it learns Earthquake which can OHKO both Empoleon and Infernape since it is super effective against both of them.

I also think he looks much cooler.

So? Empoleon learns Ice Beam to kill Torterra, Hydro Pump to kill Infernape, who learns Close Combat to beat Empoleon and Flamethrower to beat Torterra. They can all kill each other.

I've only had a playthrough with Chimchar and Turtwig so far(currently playing through with Piplup(now Prinplup.), but I'd have to say I like Turtwig so far. It has very thick defense and a nice attack also. Plus, Torterra is a force to be reckoned with, when it has Earthquake on it.

Doesn't matter if it's too slow to use it before it gets OHKO'd by one good Ice Beam.

lol, I know that. It would probably get destroyed with a quick, strong poke capable of Ice Beam in competitive battling. But I'm talking about as far as the main game goes.

Well.. I've played with them all. I go with Torterra because if you have some cash just by sine Carbos's for it. It's power IS a force to be reckoned with.

well i chose pliplup cause at the beginning he is by far the coolest...yet he then loks really really bad...turtwig is far stronger and cooler
