So are you saying that this is not the first reboot? Rather, there have been about 3 reboots so far? Hoenn/Sinnoh/Unova? Ash changed outfits about three times, in those regions. Those are reboots now? That makes no sense. If you actually read the quote, again, the reboot would have to throw everything canon out the window. No history, no pasts, it's a clean slate. And I mean it has to be a really clean slate.
I swear it's been repeated plenty of times, the reboot must introduce different characters. That's one major point. You're completely ignoring it. The goals are still the same. The plot is still the same.
Anime styles have nothing to do with it, really. That's just improving technology. Look at the first episodes, whenever there is a bright attack (for example, Thunderbolt), the rest of the screen turns dim. This also happens whenever the poke ball is thrown, whether a pokemon is being captured or released, the same results happen. They slowly improved this through the Orange Islands Saga to Johto, to eventually reach a new style in Hoenn, then so on. This does not mean it is a reboot, it's keeping up with the market. I think it would appease the audience more if they were up to standards, right?
Yes, the timeline is ridiculously long. I just use Ctrl + F then "Unova", enter. The length speaks for itself, really. But you can see the clear continuation, if you find it correctly.
