Still alive! I didn't notice you two had already started a conversation. xD

Anyway, I can relate. I think we've all been in very BRS-esque situations, except I was the Mato in mine and it didn't have a very happy ending. I guess that's why I feel so offended when people bash it. I always want to say "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! NO ONE UNDERSTANDS!" and go write emo poetry in a corner or something. ._.

indeed, ive heard sounds like 'OHITCENTERSONFRIENDSHIPWAYTOOMUCH..'
which is why i was actually hesistant to watch the OVA at first. but it was great! i actually love how they emphasize Yomi's loneliness, cause i'm sure everyone's felt left out at some points in life. but also Mato being careless like that, 'cause i'm really the type to do exactly what she did without even remotely realising.
until the person in question mentions it.. and i'll feel like the worst.

let's go bash the bashers.
ohbtw, i can't write poetry ATALL, so if you do write something after someone bashed BRS, be sure to post it here XD;

Right? Although I can see where they're coming from. You'd expect an anime based on a figure like BRS to be extremely action-oriented, but instead we got something a little bit different. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

And lol, I suck at writing poetry just as much as the next person. xD I was thinking about doing a BRS AMV though, so if you've got any song suggestions I'd love to hear them.
 
true. i actually did expect a more action-based anime adaptation, but it wasn't like that.
i don't think it changed for the worse though. i like it like this.
BRS is more of a heroic, fictional character, Mato is like the girl i'm right now. except for the fact she's way better at sports, while i'll (probably/hopefully..) be better at studying. XD;

Requesting to join The BRS club. :D;. I just watched it pretty recently, kind of confusing in the beginning but I think Mato's pretty badass. :o Although I like Yomi better. x3. I hope I didn't miss any passwords or anything. Dx

Just watched it and was wondering a few things.

Did the fight sequences have anything to do with anything? At first I was thinking it could be to a macrocosm of what's going in in the girls relationship, but then i realised that couldn't be right as they were fighting whilst things were good in the friendship.

Secondly, do you think with some adaptation this would work as a longer, say 13 episode series? I think it could, there were some nice ideas present in the OVA. I'm a fan of the whole alternate reality theme. B★R S with more development would equal a very unique anime.

Finally what was your view on the ending? "Do you want your friend back?...."yes"*GLOWS* "oh btw, who are you?"...."I'm Black★Rock Shooter"...End. I thought it was a bit so-so. I presume Yomi is fine in the end although that was a little hard to decipher at 4am.

Oh and when Yomi turns away after seeing Mato and Yuu talking in the classroom it shows a black shadow sort of thing. Was it a manifestation of jealousy as in the parallel world Black★Rock Shooter removes the same thing from Dead Master. Just wondering.

B★RS isnt a vocaloid herself; she was just associated with vocaloid cause the band supercell made the Black★RockShooter music (with vocals by Hatsune Miku of vocaloid)
&& cause B★RS just looks alot like Hatsune Miku .

the scenes in the Otherworld (the world of B★RS) do actually have relevance to the life of Mato. when B★RS entered the lair of Death Master, that's the point where Mato met Yomi in our world .
even Yuu (the 'manager') is represented in the Otherworld, as Strength, who's been lurking in the background.. from the moment Mato joined the Basketball club.

i do think it could work as a 13-episode series.. although there'll probably have to be more characters introduced and there'll have to be more of a storyline.
honestly, i hope it wouldn't ruin the amazing OVA we have now.
pushing it isn't always a good thing .

iono, the ending mightve been a bit cliché or too fast, but i thought it was clear it all turned out well in the end.
..... altho theres a chance Yuu/Strength might go the wrong way nao. XD;

and finally, to me it seemed more like Yomi took on the form of Death Master for a little .. but yeah, i guess that was some kind of form of her envy/loneliness .

i haven't seen Myself;Yourself, but i can tell you that Toradora! and FMA:BH are both great.

First 3 of those are good, never seen FMA though.

Saying that you could add a couple more shows to that....look how many shows i'm juggling atm.

yeah.. well, i can't say i ever watched that many shows at a time (cause it'd end in me dropping a few of them).
but yeah, i've been watching several at a time alright.

right now, i'm watching Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori and K-ON!!
.. and i started to re-watch some Angel Beats! episodes some days ago, although i didn't rewatch it in full.
though i'll admit i've been quite idle in watching anime overall lately.. XD;
