TwilightBlade's Adventure
I am so stoked to start a new generation of Pokemon! I picked up Pokemon Moon at midnight release at a Gamestop. There were over 260 people standing in line and I was #11. Although I couldn't play much because I had work coming up, I named my trainer Alexandria. It was the longest female name I could think of because the character limit is 12 so wynaut? I did have a nickname chosen for my starting partner. I lifted gently into my arms and bonded very quickly with my chosen Hasty male Litten nicknamed Deimos, derived from the second moon of Mars and also the Greek god of terror.


Melemele Island Nov. 18th
The environments are a great upgrade! My first capture was a female Quirky Pikipek named Helene, which is one of Saturn's moons. It was the runner up choice to my trainer name. I also caught an Alolan Meowth, Cutiefly, Carbink, and Rockruff to add some meat to the team. Rockruff I plan on keeping on the team in memory of my family dog that passed away this month. He with Litten became unstoppable, but Cutiefly netted me plenty of victories on this island. Rockruff is nicknamed Zack. Cutiefly is nicknamed Oberon, one of the major moons of Uranus and also named after the king of fairies from the Shakespearean tale. In this run, I will try to nickname every party Pokemon after a moon or star with a very few exceptions. Is this how OCD begins? In my Pokemon Sun playthrough, I will try a challenge of some sort so the team will reflect that.

Captain Ilima was no match, despite his Smeargle carrying Water Gun being a good surprise. Cutiefly carried the team through the first trial and first grand trial with its super effective hits against Dark and Fighting types. Onward sailing!

Akala Island Nov. 19th

Route 4 and Paniola Town
This island is so dense with areas to explore. I spent a lot of time here catching various Pokemon including a Mudbray (nn. Equuleus, a star and Latin for little horse) and Grubbin (nn: Prometheus, a moon of Saturn and it sounds badass). The nursery egg hatched into a Female Eevee, but I didn't have a spot for it on my team. As the nature is Adamant, I could turn it into a synchronizer/Umbreon for whenever I hunt Ditto post-game.

Route 5 & Brooklet Hill
So I've been needing Water & Grass types to power up my new Grubbin bwaha. I evolved him at level 20. I had Litten finally evolve at 23, which is my favorite number. After catching Fomantis (nn: Lyrae, a star) and Dewpider (nn: Dione, one of Saturn's moons), I added them to the team.
As I surf my way through the ponds to clear Lana's trials, I can't help but think that the excessive riding gear takes away from the fact that I am riding atop a Lapras. Tauros can be dangerous to fall of off, sure I'd love a helmet, but surfing between islands was just fine for the anime!

I began the Totem battle, yet my first attempt ended in my obliteration... I didn't want to overlevel so I used a few stat reducing moves as my strategy. Taught Confide to Dewpider to lower the Totem's special attack 3 times. Its IA made it frequently use Growl instead of Water Gun because of Dewpider's water typing. I used Sand Attack with Rockruff to lower its accuracy 3 times. My puppy was also holding a Brightpowder I obtained from the traded Bounsweet in the Pokemon Center. I then safely moved in Charjabug and used Spark all the way. I started getting worried when the ally Alomomola carried Heal Pulse, but I took each enemy down with 2-3 Sparks. This battle was a nice challenge! It made me have to consider my available moves. :D

Route 8 Nov. 20th
Besides Litten and Grubbin, Wimpod is one of the few Pokemon I planned on my team. I saw it poking around the ground and saved beforehand. I chased it down until I caught a good nature male because I wanted to nickname him Atlas, one of the moons and in mythology, a titan condemned to hold the sky on his shoulders. He shall carry the team forward with his only attack, Struggle Bug.....

Wela Volcano Park and Totem's Den Nov. 20th
This area reminded me of Lavaridge Town, but better. Even hopping down the ledges around the volcano were executed nicely. I am charmed by simple things. I ran around looking for a female Salandit, even encountering a rare Kangaskhan that I caught. Finally found a female Salandit that I nicknamed Vesta, not only the name of a star, but also a Roman goddess of fire. Hooray!

Kiawe's trial spooked me at first when the hiker and Salazzle suddenly appeared. The match wasn't a threat at all. I took out Salazzle using Araquanid's boosted Bubblebeam. Its ability is broken for sure against fire types.

Lush Jungle and Totem's Nest Nov. 21st
Looking for the ingredients reminded me of Hey You Pikachu. I wouldn't mind a remake, but Pikachu was sooooo annoying when it couldn't hear the correct instructions omg.
This Totem gave me some trouble. Nothing I had could scratch or tank too many 1-turn activated Solar Blades. Torracat is my bread and butter on this team still, and with a boosted Acrobatics he managed to take out Lurantis.

In this area I captured my own Bounsweet because the in-game trade had a silly nickname. With enough time I also caught a Comfey and Morelull. I kinda ran out of moon/star nicknames at this point. That or I am catching things too fast to look up more nicknames.

Vs. Olivia
So my team has some major rock weakness, but as a veteran player I need the disadvantage. No strategy here again, just various raw attacks. Lycanroc defeats Nosepass with Bite despite being paralyzed. Then, Ribombee performed the Grass Z-move using Absorb that did about half lol to the enemy's Lycanroc. I lost to the type advantage there, but my Torracat took care of the wolf. I sent out Fomantis against Boldore, but you'll know what's next, a few Leaf Blades did the trick. It's too easy just using super effectives. :P
I'm still not using the Exp Share, but somehow my team is becoming overleveled. I decided to deposit Ribombee and Araquanid.

Ula'Ula Island Nov. 23rd
Malie Garden, Blush Mountain, Tapu Village
This island is beautiful and exotic! I get some training in to evolve my Wimpod to finally. He is so beefy now that his ability doesn't hinder nor activate often. I played a lot over the holidays at my parents' house, but I didn't track my progress. I captured a Stufful, Komala, Bruxish, Wishiwashi, Sandygast, and Alolan Sandshrew among a few prior generation Pokemon. Pelipper has Drizzle as its ability now!
At this point I was rotating my team around to try different Pokemon. Wishiwashi is surprisingly fun so long as it is at full health.

Hokulani Observatory and Totem's Base Nov. 25th
The quiz here reminded me of Clemont's quiz in XY I think, but very simplistic. I used Lycanroc and Torracat against this army of electric bugs and that was it... I miss the gym puzzles. This Totem battle was not as overwhelming as with Wishiwashi school form and power herb Lurantis. I am about to enter the ghost trial today Any recommendations on what to use in the upcoming area or what's already boxed? I've been catching random 'mons like crazy to try to upgrade the Poke Pelago. Until next time...
