[Theory] Blastoise

Hey PokeCommunity
Do you think that Blastoise is disadvantage being only Water Type,compared to venusaur and charizard which have 2 types,or do you think that this is exactly its strength?
Moreover if it was to have a second type what would you like it to be?I thought maybe Ice or Dark?
What do you think?

I don't really think Blastoise's typing is what holds him back in comparison to other, stronger starters. I would even argue that Typing is probably the least-important factor when it comes to the individual strength of a mon.

Some Single-Type Pokemon who are doing great:
Clefable
Chansey
Serperior
Tangrowth
Galar-Corsola
Galar-Darmanitan

Some other Pokemon who have unfavorable type combos that are doing great:
Volcarona
Weavile
Celebi
Tyranitar

Normal Blastoise is stuck with either Torrent which is both meh in general and hard for a slower Pokemon to take advantage of, and Rain Dish which restricts him to be on a rain team and also does very little there anyway.

If you are mega evolving, then you also have to compete with other megas like Mega Mawile, Mega Scizor, Mega Sableye, Mega Mewtwo X/Y, etc. Only one Pokemon on the team can mega evolve, and you have to ask "Why Blastoise?" over any of those options or others.
