trying to get a good moveset for blaziken, opinions?

    Blaziken
    ----
Sky Uppercut (choosing this over brick break because i'm sick of that move and want more damage)
Overheat (need a highdamage move for him)
Swords Dance (traded him over to my FireRed, think it'll make him that much more potent)

for the last move, having a problem deciding between:
Aerial Ace - since it always hits and would give me a third attack option.
Earthquake - insanely damaging, always hits, but doesn't work vs flyers.
Rock Slide - good choice, flinches are possible, but kinda weak.

update: gonna go with aerial ace i think, rather be able to take out other fighting type and bugs just in case, heracross is a big enemy of me lol. =p

    opinions?

i'll ditch swords dance, and go overheat/sky uppercut/earthquake/rock slide... meh it's simple =x

quick attack is also usable. Aerial ace? nah

    I like this.

    Blaziken@Leichi/Salac Berry/White Herb
    Nature:+attack,-Def
    EVs:Attack, Speed
    Sky Uppercut
    Swords Dance/Overheat
    Earthquake
    Rock Slide

If your really want to mix sweep feel free to use Overheat, but if your going with Overheat then use the Herb otherwise try the Leichi and the Salac and see what you like better!
    :D

Stick with brick break, the accuracy is better. I didn't know that Blaziken can learn Swords Dance. It can learn bulk up for sure though.
Uhhh...last move, lets see...rock slide is nice, anything with good attack I guess...

i've gotten swords dance from the move tutor in firered.

i'm using aerial ace, just cause, well, i have a lack of flying moves in my group.

the reason i'm using swords dance is because i have a scizor with agility and baton pass that i'm gonna use to pump up my blaziken to just sweep it all.

need _a_ flying move, my team so far is snorlax/scizor/dragonite/blaziken.

and swellow is too lame and ugly, i make lots of my choices based solely on looks.

lol... Swellow is so cool looking though in the anime =)

Actually, flying moves are *quite* useless >>; with its only advantage towards fighting and grass out of all the commonly used types (yes there's bug, but only Heracross, and endure/reversal your aerial ace gg)... Grass types get blasted apart by anything anyway, while fighting types will survive Blaziken's AA regardless of SE. You don't have to cover one attack of every single type you know.

Sky Uppercut > Brick break most of the time you know. Brick break does have a better side effect along with accuracy, but the power factor is quite important, and it's not like its accuracy is 80% or anything. It's high enough at 90%... I'll stick with uppercut. Plus, it's a very unique move ;p

You have a dragonite. Give it aerial ace. And you can go by favorite pokemon or whatever, just maybe stick in 1 or two 'just okay' pokemon that work well with your team. :)

dunno if this set has been supplied yet, didnt bother looking at all of those :P

    Blaziken @ Salac

    Swords Dance
    Overheat/Arial Ace *your choice really*
    Rock Slide
    Brick Break

    Blaziken @ Salac

    Swords Dance
    Reversal
    Sub
    Overheat

252 Speed, split between the other 2 attack stats. Choose a Speed boosting mood also.

    @Salac Berry/Scope Lense
    -Endure
    -Reversal
    -Blaze Kick
    -Rock Slide

    Pwn

scope + blaze kick I can still understand... but why use blaze kick at all if you're going to use salac berry as the item? Blaze kick is inferior to flamethrower, fire blast and overheat in every way possible, unless you're using "critiken." However, that's the reversal-blaziken there...

First off, why are you people suggesting Aerial Ace on Blaziken? You can sweep grass and bug types =\.... Anyways, if your gonna Indure... Just use the same Ev's i'm using, or else stuff like Jolteon will still outrun you. Anyways, I hate Indure, its only good for when you know your gonna faint and most likely a Kazam, Toxic, Sleep Poweder/Spore users are out to pwn you. Just go with Subing and attack things you know will get owned by you, Overheat can probably be replaced by Flamethrower, but I havn't tested it at 1 HP on standards yet.

    Blaziken @ Salac Berry
    Trait: Blaze
    EVs: 248 Atk / 244 Spd / 18 SAtk
    Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Earthquake
    - Overheat
    - Reversal
    - Substitute

Endure and substitute both have its goods and bads. Endure is against Pokemon such as Crobat, Aerodactyl, Alakazam, Gengar, Starmie, Kingdra and so on. As you mentioned, it's for Pokemon that's gurantee to go faster than Blaziken, and there are plenty of them. Blaziken is relatively slow for a "fast sweeper." Does substitute method work for these Pokemon? No. However, Substitute can gurantee that it reduces your hp, for who knows what will hit you on the turn using endure? If it's toxic, you're just messed unless you got heal beller.

Both of them has its own pros and cons, and it's impossible to prove that one is better than another for Blaziken.

Only 2 and a half (half being Gengar) of those Pokemon can die from Blaziken... Who would try and indure agaist a Crobat who ALWAYS starts off with Confuse Ray? There only a few fast Pokemon that can faint from Reversal, thats why I suggesed Substitute =\.

o.o; Crobat leads off with confuse ray? Where did all those banded bat critters go?

The thing is that not necessarily do you have to use reveral for the endure trick to work. You're only needing the salac berry, then usually reversal OR rock slide will handle it. Rock Slide in this case handles Crobat/Aerodactyl/Alakazam (well any physical attacks will do XD) and etc. You just need the salac boost and sweep them up with any offensive attack, which doesn't necessarily mean reversal.

    I personally have...

    -endure/substitute + salac
    -overheat
    -reversal
    -rock slide

So yes it works pretty well ^^ Gengar got a higher chance of dying from Blaze+Overheat though in comparison to rock slide... or is it roughly the same? Ah I dunno... don't remember now. One of them is only a barely, while the other one KOs.

(PS: the Blaziken/Gengar thing may differ from person to person depending on the EV of Gengar... I just assumed that he got no def in both)

Theres always the chance Slide will miss, it happens to me sometimes, 3 times in a row once. To take on Dactyl with Rockslide isn't really good, Reversal OHKO's him anways.

(Well, Blaziken + Effect + Overheat + 260 Sp.Atk nearly KO's Gengar, so with a bit more Ev's it should faint.)

(Was attacked by Finglonger, bearly won O.O!)

lol... at least you won against him. I got decimated by him like 5-0 (me being 0 XD)

Well... if you magically got the 1/1000 chance of rock slide missing 3 times in a row, then blame the random number generator of NB? ^^; Really, 90% isn't that bad at all. If you don't want to miss... um... HP Rock good enough?
