Ok, i have a really good team that i would like to use against anybody that challenges me to a link battle. The only problem is...i still think it needs work:

I know why nobody has posted...you need some help, so here:

-NEVER use hyper beam or any moves like it, such as hydro cannon.
-NEVER use two attacks of the same type on on poke, unless it is a rare exception, like specsmence.
-Iron Tail fails...just to point that out.
-Any good team needs at 2 walls, at least 2 sweepers, and then what you want...all your pokemon are attackers, and use no real strategy, besides sunnybeaming.
-Know pokemon's base stats b4 posting movesets...like rhyperior, NEVER use special attacks on it, like fire blast, since it has a base SpA stat of 45. Ouch!

Now that a few of the basics are out of the way, you should learn about EV training, and the importance of natures. This would be an ingame team, and really is no good. Not be be a harsh jerk, but you need to know these things to be successful.

Once you learn some more, we can help much more. But here, I'll post a metagross moveset to get you started:

    Metagross@Leftovers
    Adamant Nature
    EVs: 252 Attack, 100 Speed, 158 HP
    ~Earthquake
    ~Meteor Mash
    ~Thunderpunch
    ~Agility

There is a great set for it.

Oh, you have a big boltbeam weakness, and Vire=doom for this team as well.

I believe Ampharos was used as a SkarmBliss counter in the 3rd gen, im wondering if it is used as it again in the 4th gen?

Well, thunderbolt, rain dance, thunder, and iron tail won't counter skarmbliss. EVs would be nice.

skarmbliss?? i don't understand. I that you guys alot for all of the imput. Now, i need to know what should the moves be for everybody. I know that iron tail would not be good for ampharos, but i didn't have any heart scales and it was the only tm i had.

Iron tail still fails...and skarmbliss is skarmory and blissey...

Iron tail still fails...and skarmbliss is skarmory and blissey...

yah, i know that iron tail fails, you told me that. resently i got 5 of each tms(today, not haved), some more heart scales, and i am going to get the moves rearranged. so that is why i want to know what moves that they should have.

You're going to have to rebreed so you can EV train, just so you know...so DON'T use those TMs just yet.

WHAT!?!?!?! NO, i just want to use them and them only.

If you won't rebreed, consider your team DEAD. Just the way it is I'm afraid. You have no pokemon on your current team even close to worth using, so you HAVE TO rebreed for IVs and natures if you want to stand a chance at all.

WHAT!?!?!?! NO, i just want to use them and them only.
Your team will make a nice dinner course for :horns:, if that's the case. <3

Seriously, you can't expect to have a good team if you're not going to breed for IVs and do the proper EV Training.

Also, I was going to fix your team for you, but since you're TOTALLY AGAINST breeding for new warriors, then I don't think I'll even waste my time (or yours for that matter).

i know that, but how will i retrain them so quikely, and it will take me for ever to get shiny pokemon.

Shiny means nothing. They are cool, but they give no bonuses. If you really want a good team, you must realize the hard work and time needed to make the team...my D/P team took me over a month. And you need EVs...and how quickly you train is irrelevant.

If you seriously like shiny pokemon, just do a collection and put every shiny pokemon you find in it.

Your actual team has to have good natures and IVs, and you have to EV train them properly.

I think shinys are a waste of time because getting a shiny with a good nature is hard, and it's even harder to get a shiny with good natures and IVs, they're a waste of time for competitive pokemon teams.

Shiny pokemon are used for bragging and show rights, make a box in your PC for shiny, and get good pokemon that are trained right.

Why did you post this thread ? If your unwilling to change your team and re-breed them to get better natures and IV's, then you shouldn't of asked for help.

I believe anti-Skarmbliss Ampharos went something like this in 3rd gen:

    Ampharos @ Leftovers
    Trait: Static
    EV: 200 HP / 56 Att / 252 SpAtt
    Nature: Quiet
    Focus Punch
    Thunderbolt
    Substitute
filler (Fire/Ice Punch, Thunder Wave. HP Grass)

Since the punches are now physical, you may want more Att and less SpAtt. You'll still want a lot to 2HKO Skarm though.

ok, then tell me what the natures should be for all of my pokemon team if i rebreed then and train them.

    Hm...

The nature depends on the Pokemon. A few rules is to never have a - nature on a stat that is needed (for example -atk on a physical sweeper), and never use neutral natures. EVER.

The set that toothache is good for ampharos.

Mirror Coat is an excellent choice for Blastoise. Also, Rest is another good choice. Blastoise is a tank, not a sweeper.

Fire fang over Fire Blast, Fire fang is physical and fire blast is special. It is true that fire blast has more base attack, but garchomp's base sp atk is very low (80 or so). Draco meter is a no-no, put dragon claw over it instead.

agility>psychic. Metagross with a few agilities can outrun most pokemon, and can sweep them away. I don't like sludge bomb, I would subsitute that for rock slide or stone edge.

Fire blast on rhyperior is not a good choice. Substitute that for Rock Polish for better speed.

I'd suggest getting support pokemon, so drop a few physical sweepers, get a few special sweepers, and baton passers, etc.

Umbreon has good defenses and can baton pass, so it is ideal for passing substitutes and wishes. Ninjask can baton pass a good speed boost, however it is quite frail.
    Also, get more walls.
