okay, maybe this should go in to the GBA section but it sort of deals with Pokemon Coloseum, but..

okay i was wondering i caught a Bayleef on Coloseum and i want to breed it to get a chikorita, so my question is od i have to play Coloseum over again and hope i snag another bayleef of a different gender? cuz on serebii.net it has a list of pokemon Bayleef can breed with and it lists other like vileplum

so i guess to simplfy things i have a male Bayleef so do i have to get a female bayleef or can i use a different female of another speices(example=vileplume)?

    thanks in advanced

Well, to breed another of ANY type of Pokemon, you need a female of that species. Or, wait til FR/LG comes out and catch a Ditto, when having a male doesn't matter. Ditto is also how certain species can breed only, the non-legendary genderless Pokemon (Magneton, Metagross, Starmie), and the all male types (the Hitmons, Eevee + evolutions).

Or you could just get a AR chet device for game and then cath a ditto and then put it in colosseum!
